Revelations from the Lava Jato Operation Could Remove Golar Power from the Bid for Petrobras’ Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal in Bahia

Petrobras announced in a relevant fact that the energy group Golar may have to be excluded from the bid for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Bahia, put up for sale by the state-owned company.

Petrobras is reassessing Golar Power’s risk note to determine whether the company can engage in business with the state company, including participation in the bidding process for the regasification terminal in Bahia.

“Due to the facts revealed in the 75th phase of the Lava Jato Operation related to the Golar Power Group, Petrobras informs that a review of this supplier’s Integrity Analysis is currently underway. This analysis is regularly conducted with all the company’s suppliers and assigns different Integrity Risk Grades (IRG). Any change in the perception of integrity risk to which Petrobras may be exposed in its dealings with the Golar Power Group will be promptly communicated to its Legal Representatives,” said Petrobras in a note.
