Aker Signs Multi-million Contract with Equinor and Will Manufacture Wet Christmas Trees in Brazil for the Development of the Oil Field in the North Sea
Equinor announced the investment for the development of the Breidablikk field, with 200 million barrels of oil, a major oil discovery in the North Sea, whose wet Christmas trees (ANMs) and control systems will be produced by Aker Solutions in Brazil.
Estimated at NOK 2.5 billion (approximately US$ 264 million), the contract with Aker provides for the supply of four subsea templates and up to 23 ANMs and associated components that will be linked to the Grane platform.
The project will be carried out at Aker’s facilities in Norway, with deliveries from the UK, Malaysia, and Brazil. The first oil from the field is scheduled for the first half of 2024.
In Brazil, the equipment will be manufactured at Aker’s facility in São José dos Pinhais (PR) – one of the two global subsea innovation hubs of the company, alongside its factory in Malaysia, serving both domestic and international projects.
