[supsystic-social-sharing id=’1′]The Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS), located in Pernambuco, was able to deliver the vessel Abdias Nascimento on the stipulated deadline to Transpetro last Thursday (September 14), and without wasting any time, Petrobras’ subsidiary has already set sail towards the Campos Basin, demonstrating the urgency of the state-owned company to get the oil machinery in the region up and running once and for all. Here are some technical specifications regarding this unit:

The ship measures about 274 meters from end to end and can carry no more, no less than 1 million barrels of oil on each trip, in addition to being able to operate in Brazil and in the most remote places around the globe. The Abadias belongs to the Suezmax category, which now integrates and maximizes Transpetro’s fleet portfolio. With this exponential increase in its fleet, its customers’ needs are gradually being met with greater operational quality, safety, and compliance with all international regulations.

At the moment, five ships are being constructed at EAS, with 3 of them expected to be completed by 2018 and 2 more in 2019. All of them are Aframax class.
