E-Commerce Company Announces Significant Expansion in the Country Focusing on Logistics, Strengthening Operations and Expanding Formal Employment Opportunities in Several Brazilian Regions.

Mercado Livre announced the opening of 20,000 job vacancies in Brazil by the end of 2025, in a movement primarily aimed at the logistics area.

The objective, according to the company, is to strengthen operations during peak demand periods, such as Black Friday and the end-of-year holidays.

About 25% of the opportunities are temporary, aimed at increasing delivery volume during this period.

The vacancies are spread across various regions of the country, concentrated in strategic cities such as Cajamar (SP), Araçariguama (SP), Extrema (MG) and Governador Celso Ramos (SC).

The positions encompass operational, administrative, and logistical support activities.

Candidates must have completed high school and availability for in-person work.

According to Patricia Monteiro de Araujo, People Director at Mercado Livre in Brazil, attracting professionals for the peak season is considered a priority to maintain operational performance.

“Attracting logistics professionals for the year-end season is a priority that supports our business outlook. These hires reinforce the structured and sustainable growth of Mercado Livre in the country,” she stated.

Logistics Expansion and Operational Reinforcement

The team expansion has a direct focus on strengthening the logistics network, which is pointed out by industry analysts as the main competitive differential of large e-commerce companies.

Mercado Livre maintains distribution centers and delivery stations in different states, which, according to experts, enables shorter lead times and increased responsiveness during demand peaks.

The new hires are expected to reinforce steps such as receiving, sorting, checking, and shipping products, in addition to administrative functions.

Industry sources believe that expanding the operational workforce helps maintain delivery regularity and reduce logistical bottlenecks in the last quarter of the year, when there is a higher volume of orders.

Workforce Increase and Projections for 2025

In April, the company projected reaching 50,400 employees in Brazil by the end of 2025.

With the new hires and replacements, the number is expected to reach 55,500 employees, representing a growth of about 50% compared to 2024, when it had 36,500 workers.

According to the company’s own data, the expansion is part of a structured and long-term growth plan.

Labor market experts assert that the move reflects the advancement of e-commerce in the country and the trend of consolidation among companies investing in their own logistics.

For them, the expansion may also indicate an effort to reduce dependence on third-party operators and enhance consumer experience.

Corporate Culture and Long-Term Goals

According to Patricia de Araujo, the expansion plan aligns with Mercado Livre’s institutional purpose, aimed at democratizing trade and financial services in Latin America.

The executive states that the internal culture seeks to encourage leadership and professional development among employees.

Sources linked to the human resources sector indicate that the strategy of maintaining continuous investment in technology, training, and infrastructure is essential for sustaining operational growth and ensuring delivery efficiency.

This type of investment, according to analysts, has been common among large e-commerce players seeking to reduce logistical costs and expand regional presence.

Regional Impact and Job Creation

Reinforcing the personnel team is expected to boost the creation of formal jobs in regions that concentrate distribution centers.

Economists consulted by industry outlets note that the internalization of logistics operations tends to positively impact local economies by creating demand for complementary services such as transportation, maintenance, and food.

Additionally, market analysts state that this move also contributes to job decentralization, expanding opportunities outside of major urban centers.

This type of expansion, they assert, follows a trend of large companies looking to diversify their operational bases in Brazil.

Inclusion and Qualification Programs

In addition to the hires, Mercado Livre reports that it maintains programs aimed at social inclusion and professional training.

The initiative is part of a corporate policy of talent development and promoting diversity within the logistics teams, according to the company.

The actions include in-person and online training, career paths, and incentives for technical qualification.

Human resources specialists point out that investing in ongoing training is one of the practices that contribute most to employee retention in large logistics operations, especially during high turnover periods.

How to Apply for the Vacancies

The opportunities are concentrated in the units of Cajamar, Araçariguama, Extrema and Governador Celso Ramos, but there are also positions in other locations where Mercado Livre maintains distribution centers.

Interested candidates must have completed high school and availability to work in person.

The roles include operational, administrative, and support activities in the transportation and storage areas.

Applicants can apply through the official Mercado Livre careers site, where job descriptions, requirements, and selection process stages are available.
