About the Miner:

Atlantic Nickel has been operating since 2009 in exploration, mining, processing and commercialization of nickel concentrate. The sulphide nickel produced, after going through a refining process, is the main component in the manufacture of batteries that equip the growing electric vehicle market.

Santa Rita Mine operations are concentrated in the municipality of Itagibá, in Bahia, northeast Brazil, about 370 kilometers away from the capital Salvador (BA). The location is also strategic as it is just 140 kilometers from the port of Ilhéus, a city in the south of Bahia, well positioned from the point of view of ore exports.

10 thousand tons of nickel produced in Bahia were exported to China last Monday by the only producer of the ore in Brazil, Atlantic Nickel

The 10,4 thousand tons of nickel concentrate made Atlantic Nickel reach the mark of 67,7 thousand tons exported in 2020, the large volume of ore exports is to meet the growing demand of the international electrification market.

Nickel concentrate is a fundamental raw material in the manufacture of batteries, a major driver of the expansion of the electric car segment in the world, the ore provides the adoption of alternative energy sources to combustion, building the technology of the future in a sustainable way.

The shipment was carried out from the Port of Ilhéus, a terminal located just 140km from the production unit located in the municipality of Itagibá, in the southern region of Bahia. Atlantic Nickel completed in October this year, one year of operation in the south of Bahia.
