According to the executive, the project will be launched next week by the Ministries of Cities and Mines and Energy, aiming to stimulate not only the development of the energy source in the country but also to promote job creation and combat inequality in a genuine and solid manner, he said.
Despite the announcement, the minister did not provide further details about the use of technology in the program of popular housing by the Federal Government. In July of last year, the energy source was included in My House, My Life with the sanction of Law 14,620/2023 – which recreated the housing program in place of the My House Green and Yellow program, bringing incentives for solar energy. Brazil’s presidency at the G20 meeting aims to point out to the world the challenges that need to be addressed for these transactions to occur justly, inclusively, and equitably.
In the Working Group, coordinated by the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), the goal is to share information and promote coordinated political action to accelerate and expand the benefits of energy transition worldwide.
According to the Ministry, the choice of Minas Gerais to host the 3rd meeting of the G20 working group was due to the fact that the state is the largest producer of solar energy in the country.
My House, My Life: Priority for Solar Energy and Affordable Housing
The housing program My House, My Life will emphasize the use of solar energy in all its homes, as announced by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, during the 3rd Meeting of the G20 Energy Transition Working Group held in Belo Horizonte (MG).
