New Platform of the Ministry of Finance Facilitates Access to the Old PIS/Pasep Fund, Allowing Consultation and Direct Withdrawal of Available Amounts.
The Ministry of Finance launched on this Monday (10) the Repis Cidadão, an online platform that allows users to consult and withdraw residual amounts from the extinct PIS/Pasep Fund. The fund was closed in May 2020, and the remaining amounts can now be withdrawn by workers or heirs. According to the government, the average amount available per beneficiary is R$ 2,8 thousand.
How to Access Repis Cidadão
To check if there is money available, citizens must access the website repiscidadao.fazenda.gov.br. It is necessary to have an active account at the silver or gold levels on the Gov.br portal. If you do not have one, you will need to update or create an account on this platform.
In addition to checking amounts, the site provides guidance on how to make withdrawals, including specific information for those who are heirs of deceased beneficiaries. The first payments will be made starting on March 28.

Who Is Entitled?
Workers who were formally employed between 1971 and 1988, whether with a work card in the private sector or as public servants, and who have not yet withdrawn their shares may have amounts to receive. The amount depends on the time worked and the salary received during that specific period.
It is important to clarify that the PIS/Pasep Fund, which is the subject of this refund, has no relation to the current annual salary bonus. The bonus for 2025, for example, refers to the base year of 2023 and is exclusively for workers who earned, on average, up to two minimum monthly wages in that year.
History of the PIS/Pasep Fund
The PIS/Pasep Fund was created in 1976, from the unification of the funds of the Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Public Servant Heritage Formation Program (Pasep). However, since 1989, new contributions have not been deposited into individual accounts.
With the Constitution of 1988, the resources that were previously allocated to workers began to finance social programs, such as unemployment insurance and the salary bonus. In May 2020, the fund was officially extinguished, with all remaining amounts transferred to the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS).
For those who prefer, the consultation of residual amounts can still be done through the official FGTS app. Interested parties can already access the Repis Cidadão platform and check if they are entitled to amounts that have been forgotten for decades.
