Minister Claims That 2024 Will Have More Competitions; Recently, the Federal Government Closed Registrations for the So-Called “Enem of Competitions,” Which Will Have Over 6,000 Vacancies.

Unlike previous years, in 2024, Brazil is experiencing a high number of competitions. This brings joy to those studying for public service exams, who dream of obtaining a public position but have been lacking good opportunities.

Speaking about the balance of the Unified National Public Exam (UNPE), referred to as “Enem of Competitions” due to the high number of registrations and vacancies, the Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck, stated that new major exams are expected to be announced still in 2024.

According to the head of the department, the “Enem of Competitions” will have 2.1 million participants. This number makes the exam the largest selection process aimed at filling vacancies in public administration in history. This final figure was released after compensating all payments of the registration fee, which was mandatory for those not exempt.

During the announcement, Alexandre Retamal, general coordinator of Logistics for the unified exam, stated that with this number, we have “a sufficient amount of registered candidates to fill all vacancies for the exam, in all positions and in all locations where there will be vacancies”. “It certainly met the expectation”, he said.

Women Are the Majority Among Registrants

Of this total of 2.1 million registrants, 1.2 million are women, with about 900 thousand men. According to Cristina Kiomi Mori, executive secretary of the ministry, this data was a “positive surprise”.

“Women have been getting more education than men, which helps bring greater equality to the public service of the Federal District. We hope to correct some distortions that we have in the federal public service, which is still predominantly composed of males”, she said.

Approved Candidates Will Be Appointed in August

During the press conference about the exam data, the Ministry of Management revealed that the appointments of approved candidates are expected to take place starting on August 5.

As Click Petróleo e Gás has already published, the exam will be divided into 8 blocks. Of these, the most competitive is the last one, which has intermediate-level vacancies and 701 thousand registrants. Check out the number of registrants for the other blocks:

  • Block 7 (Government Management and Public Administration): 429,370 registrants;
  • Block 4 (Work and Employee Health): 336,284 registrants;
  • Block 5 (Education, Health, Social Development, and Human Rights): 300,766 registrants;
  • 1st Block (Infrastructure, Exact Sciences, and Engineering): 121,838 candidates;
  • Block 3 (Environmental, Agrarian, and Biological): 102,922 registrants;
  • Block 2 (Technology, Data, and Information): 77,943 registrants;
  • And Block 6 (Economic Sectors and Regulation): 74,283 registrants.

According to the data released by the ministry, the most competitive positions are Indigenous Management Technician at the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (323,350 registrants), Geographic and Statistical Information Technician in the Northeast Region at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (316,543 registrants), and Labor Auditor (MTE) – Audit and Inspection (315,899 registrants).

Where the Candidates Are From

According to the ministry, the state with the highest number of registrants was São Paulo, with 223,248, followed by Rio de Janeiro, with 228,452 registrants. Among municipalities, Brasília stood out with 220 thousand registrants. Rio de Janeiro (127 thousand), São Paulo (88 thousand), Salvador (68 thousand), and Belo Horizonte (62 thousand) complete the ranking of municipalities with the most registrants.

Candidates Should Keep an Eye Out

Finally, the minister stated that from April 25 onwards, people should be attentive to confirm the exam location on the registration page. This is to ensure that the city is correct.

“Don’t forget to bring a black pen and your identity card. Arrive one hour before the scheduled time. Please study and be prepared”, she said about the exam, which offers a total of 6,640 vacancies distributed among the 21 participating public agencies.
