Mitsubishi has expanded the 2027 Eclipse Cross lineup in Brazil with the GLS version, the new entry-level configuration of the medium SUV. The model is priced at R$ 155,990 and maintains the 1.5 turbo engine producing 165 hp but arrives with fewer features than the rest of the range.
On the official Eclipse Cross 2027 configurator, the GLS is listed below the Rush, priced at R$ 176,990. Among the suggested prices, the difference is R$ 21,000.

The gap narrows during the current promotional campaign in September, as Mitsubishi is advertising the Rush for R$ 159,990. Under these conditions, only R$ 4,000 separates this promotional version’s price from the GLS’s listed price.
The reduction in features is most noticeable in the cabin. The GLS does not come with the 10.25-inch multimedia center offered starting from the Rush and also excludes the rearview camera and the front USB type A input.
Without the central screen, the car comes from the factory prepared for audio equipment, with an electrical harness and four speakers installed in the doors. The seats are upholstered in fabric, a solution also used in the Eclipse Cross Rush.
The reduction in content did not affect an important part of the safety package. The GLS retains seven airbags, including front, side, curtain, and driver’s knee airbags, as well as electronic stability and traction controls and tire pressure monitoring.
Other features include digital air conditioning, cruise control, a color display trip computer, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. On the exterior, the model retains LED daytime running lights and 18-inch alloy wheels with a black finish.
Another difference lies in the paint options. In the Mitsubishi configurator, the Eclipse Cross GLS is available in Fuji White, while other configurations in the lineup offer a broader range of colors.
1.5 Turbo Engine and CVT Transmission are Retained
The simplification of the GLS does not change the mechanical set. The SUV uses a 1.5 MIVEC Turbo gasoline engine, which delivers 165 hp and 25.5 kgfm of torque.
The transmission is a CVT automatic type, programmed to simulate eight gears. The GLS has front-wheel drive, while the all-wheel drive system remains limited to higher configurations that offer the 4×4 option.
In suspension, the Eclipse Cross retains the independent McPherson setup at the front axle and a multilink system with coil springs at the rear. This architecture is the same as used in other configurations of the lineup.
The dimensions also remain unchanged. The GLS measures 4.54 meters in length, 1.80 meters in width, and 1.68 meters in height, with a 2.60-meter wheelbase and a ground clearance of 21.5 centimeters.
In front-wheel drive versions, the reported consumption is 10.3 km/l in urban settings and 11.3 km/l on the highway, always using gasoline. In all-wheel drive configurations, the numbers are 10.2 km/l in the city and 11.5 km/l on the highway.
Price Brings GLS Closer to Mid-Range Compact SUV Versions
With a suggested price of R$ 155,990 (about US$28,000), the Eclipse Cross GLS falls into a range close to mid-range compact SUVs. Among the references cited in the material presenting the configuration are the Volkswagen T-Cross 200 TSI, priced at R$ 152,890, and the Hyundai Creta Comfort, priced at R$ 156,590.
In this price bracket, Mitsubishi maintains the dimensions of a medium SUV, along with the 165 hp turbo engine and 18-inch wheels. On the downside, the base configuration does not offer features like a multimedia center and rearview camera.
The comparison within its own lineup changes while the Rush offer lasts. The discount applied to the immediately superior version reduces the difference from R$ 21,000 to R$ 4,000 compared to the GLS, although both models have distinct equipment lists.
Between January and August 2026, the Eclipse Cross recorded 4,975 units sold in Brazil. During the same period, the Jeep Compass registered 36,431 units, the Toyota Corolla Cross reached 25,564, and the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 accumulated 17,964.
