2010 Chevrolet Camaro equipped with a Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine goes up for auction and impresses with its extreme design.

An unusual modified 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is attracting attention in the international automotive market. Equipped with a Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine, the vehicle has been put up for sale in an online auction, sparking curiosity for combining aeronautical technology and extreme performance. The project, known as “Turbinaro,” gained notoriety after years of development and complex technical modifications.

The proposal emerged as a bold attempt to reinvent the classic muscle car. Instead of the traditional V8 engine, the model received a turbine originally used in military drones and helicopters, elevating the vehicle’s engineering level.

The Chevrolet Camaro project took nearly a decade to complete

The construction of the Chevrolet Camaro with a Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine began with enthusiast Troy Mann. He dedicated about nine years to the car’s development, completely transforming its original structure.

After his death in 2024, the vehicle continued to receive adjustments. Subsequently, automotive influencer Cleetus McFarland acquired the model and shared improvements on his channel, increasing its visibility.

Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine completely changes performance

The major differentiator of the Chevrolet Camaro lies in the use of the Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine. This type of propulsion works differently from conventional engines, using a turbine that generates continuous power to move the vehicle.

Additionally, the system requires aviation kerosene as fuel, making its operation unusual. The automatic transmission has also been adapted to support the new mechanical setup.

Inside, the Chevrolet Camaro has been completely redesigned. The dashboard features aviation-inspired instruments, including pressure gauges and specific switches to control the turbine.

Another highlight is the afterburner system. This feature allows flames to emit from the rear, reinforcing the car’s aggressive and experimental look.

Modified Chevrolet Camaro is powerful but impractical

Despite being impressive, the Chevrolet Camaro with a Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine was not designed for everyday use. The high fuel consumption and extreme noise level limit its usability.

Thus, the model is considered more of a display piece than a conventional car. Nevertheless, its auction value has already surpassed $63,000, highlighting collectors’ interest.

The “Turbinaro” represents a rare fusion between two areas of engineering. By combining a Chevrolet Camaro with a Boeing T50 military turbo shaft engine, the project challenges traditional standards of the automotive industry.

Thus, the vehicle establishes itself as one of the most curious and extreme examples ever created, attracting attention from both enthusiasts and technology experts.
