Ola Electric Developed an Affordable Electric Motorcycle with Two Versions That Could Reach the Brazilian Market for Less Than R$ 6 Thousand. The Company’s Electric Motorcycles Are Equipped with Cutting-Edge Technology and Also Come with a 750W Portable Charger
O Ola Electric, observing the high potential of two-wheeled vehicles, developed an affordable electric motorcycle known as Ola S1, which comes in two versions. One that costs around R$ 5,500, featuring an electric motor with a power of 8.5 kW and a torque of 5.9 kg/m. This simpler version can go from 0 to 60 km/h in just 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 90 km/h. Its range is 120 km on a single charge. The more expensive version of the model costs around R$ 9,200 and can reach 115 km/h.

Affordable Electric Motorcycle from Ola Electric Can Be Charged in Just 4.5 Hours
To recharge the electric motorcycles, the company provides a portable charger of 750W, which can fully recharge the models in just 4.5 hours. However, the company stated that, in the near future, it will start to offer fast charging devices that will be able to deliver 80% charge in just 18 minutes. In the Indian market, where the electric motorcycles are currently being sold, the company offers over 5,000 charging stations spread throughout the country.
In terms of design, the affordable electric motorcycle from Ola Electric is equipped with various cutting-edge technologies and features. However, these are present only in the more expensive models. The electric motorcycle comes with LED lights, a 7-inch multimedia center, cruise control, GPS navigation, and controls that can be operated through smartphones or other devices.
To support this, the affordable electric motorcycle features a Move OS operating system, consisting of an eight-core processor at 1.8 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. Although they have been on the Indian market for a few months now, there is still no forecast for the arrival of these electric motorcycle models in the national territory or other countries beyond import.
Affordable Electric Motorcycle Is the Most Pre-Reserved in the World
Ola Electric released data on the pre-reservations of its electric motorcycles, showing more than 100,000 sales of the models in just one day. The company stated in a press release that, with these numbers, the model is becoming the most pre-reserved in the world.
The CEO of the Group, Bhavish Aggarwal, expressed his excitement about these numbers, which, for the most part, come from customers in India, for the first electric motorcycles of the brand.
Meet Ola Electric
Ola Electric was developed in 2017 as a company controlled by ANI Technologies, which is also responsible for controlling Ola Cabs. The company began the reduction of pollutant gas emissions and also the reduction of dependence on polluting fuel from Ola’s cabs, transitioning to mass electric mobility.
One year after its founding, in 2018, it announced its intention to have 1 million electric models in its taxi service by the end of this year. Between late 2018 and early 2019, Bhavish Aggarwal acquired a 92.5% stake in Ola Electric from its parent company. Still in 2019, the company raised about US$ 56 million from Matrix India and Tiger Global.
