Meet The World’s First Electric Motorcycle That Can Transform Into An Office Desk. ICOMA’s Foldable Electric Motorcycle Has A Top Speed Of 40km/h In Its Initial Phase
The Japanese company ICOMA presents a foldable electric motorcycle called ‘tatamel bike’, ideal for getting around the city or going to work. The mini electric motorcycle can be folded into a size small enough to be stored under a standard office desk, which means you won’t have to worry about parking again. The idea is that the vehicle serves as transportation but can also function as an office desk for those working from home.

No Estimated Date For Large-Scale Commercialization
For now, it is not known at what price or when the electric Tatamel Bike will be sold. It has not been disclosed whether it will be possible to purchase it in all countries, as the motorcycle is currently exclusive to Japan.
It would be a shame if it remained exclusive to Japan, as we know that 50% of motorcyclists want to buy an electric motorcycle, according to a study by BikeSure. Some manufacturers like Kawasaki have already announced that they will only sell electric models by 2050.
Range Of 50km In The Prototype Phase, Developers Hope To Achieve 200km On A Single Charge
The Tatamel model is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery. It has an estimated range of about 50 km in its initial phase and a top speed of 40 km/h. These are quite modest numbers, but the company claims to be working to triple the range and, who knows, in the near future, increase the speed from 40 km/h to 100 km/h.
The foldable electric motorcycle is also equipped with footrests, a stand, a headlight, turn signals, and front and rear suspension. There is also a built-in socket for charging smart devices like smartphones, smartwatches, and even portable video games like the Nintendo Switch. Enthusiasts who want to know more details and developments about the foldable electric motorcycle can check out the company’s website.
The standard design of the first foldable electric model of the Tatamel features wooden side panels, giving it a sleek appearance. If the motorcycle were placed in a living room, most people would mistake it for some strangely shaped furniture.
The simpler design of the motorcycle also indicates the manufacturer’s intention to launch an affordable model in the market. This is interesting, especially in Brazil, where electric motorcycles and cars are too expensive for most people. The more affordable models are released, the greater the chances of market expansion and reduction in vehicle prices.
