Nordex, a German manufacturer of wind turbines, closes an agreement for the delivery of eight AW 132/3465 model equipment to supply a wind farm construction project in RN

After the announcement that the French Voltalia signed a contract with the Japanese multinational TODA for the construction of a wind farm in Rio Grande do Norte, the company Nordex informed that it signed an agreement for the supply of wind turbines for the project and the provision of services for 15 years with TODA Energia do Brasil.

The German equipment manufacturer informed that the agreement includes the supply of eight wind turbines of its AW 132/3465 model and that the units will be installed in 120-meter concrete towers developed at its factory in Areia Branca, in the municipality of Rio Grande do Norte. .

The project's capacity is 28 MW and, according to Nordex, construction of the wind farm should begin in March 2021. The deal was signed between Voltalia and TODA and foresees its construction through EPC services in addition to the operation and maintenance of the wind farm in Rio Grande do Norte.

Nordex Energy started projects in the Brazilian market in 2016, after completing the merger with the wind energy businesses of the Spanish group Acciona, which already operated in the country.

Wind farm in RN receives BNDES financing approval of BRL 208 million

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved financing for the special purpose company (SPE) Ventos de Santa Sofia Energias Renováveis ​​for the implementation of the Ventos de Santa Martina 14 wind energy park, located in Rio Grande do Norte.

The wind energy park is part of the Casa dos Ventos group and is one of eight located in the Rio do Vento Wind Complex, currently under construction, with 504 megawatts of total installed capacity.

The BNDES will finance the implementation works and the acquisition of national equipment. The Ventos de Santa Martina 14 wind farm is expected to enter commercial operation in 2021, adding 63 megawatts to the complex's total capacity. Learn more here.
