Housing Program Advances in Various Regions with the Construction of 3,181 New Homes; Porto Alegre Leads in Number of Units.

The Minha Casa, Minha Vida program began, between June 9 and 13, 18 new construction projects in different regions of Brazil, totaling 3,181 housing units. The constructions are expected to directly benefit 12,724 people, who are awaiting the realization of their dream of homeownership. This initiative marks an important advancement in the popular housing sector and reinforces the federal government’s commitment to access to decent housing.

Porto Alegre Leads with the Highest Number of New Homes

In the South Region, Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, stood out as the municipality with the highest number of homes under construction.

The city has started the construction of 523 new homes in a single development, which is expected to benefit around 2,092 people.

In Paraná, construction has also begun in Curitiba, with 176 units, and Ponta Grossa, with 13 more homes under construction.

Northeast Receives the Highest Number of Developments

The Northeast was the region with the highest distribution of new construction sites. In Bahia, the municipalities of Feira de Santana and Alagoinhas began the construction of 192 and 250 units, respectively.

In Maranhão, three developments are underway: 192 homes in Imperatriz and two projects with 250 homes each in Codó, totaling 500 new units.

Other projects have started in Buíque (PE) with 150 homes and Itaporanga D’Ajuda (SE), with 96 housing units.

These cities will have their communities directly impacted by the emergence of new housing developments.

Southeast and Midwest Also Expand Access to Housing

In the Southeast, highlights include São Paulo, with construction started in Itapevi (300 homes) and Bauru (400 homes), and Belo Horizonte, where 48 new units will be delivered.

Espírito Santo is also participating in the new phase of the program with 96 homes under construction in the municipality of Vila Velha.

In the Midwest, the municipality of Corumbá (MS) has begun the construction of Residencial dos Ipês I, with 125 new homes, which are expected to benefit approximately 500 people.

Minha Casa, Minha Vida Continues to Drive Social Development

The new work fronts represent not only housing but also more jobs, income, and social inclusion.

Focusing on low-income populations, Minha Casa, Minha Vida consolidates its importance as one of the main public policies aimed at housing in the country.

With these ongoing projects, the program reinforces its mission to guarantee the right to housing and create opportunities for thousands of Brazilians in different regions of the national territory.
