New Compact SUV From Chevrolet Will Arrive Soon in the Brazilian Automotive Market. The New Compact SUV Chevrolet Trax 2024 Will Arrive to Compete With Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross.
Arriving to fill the gap left by the already discontinued Cruze, the Chevrolet Trax 2024 is the newest compact SUV from the brand. Available in the North American automotive market since the beginning of last year, the new Chevrolet SUV originated in China, where it is better known as Seeker, but its global name ended up being the same, Trax.
New Compact SUV Will Rival Jeep Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross
The new compact SUV is the official replacement for the Cruze in all markets, and it even arrived in the U.S. in the month that the Cruze stopped being sold there.
The Chevrolet Trax 2024 will also be marketed here in Latin America, with production likely in Mexico, the same place where the Equinox is made and will come to Brazil to position itself between the Equinox and the Tracker, aiming to compete with Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross, and others.

Like the Tracker and Onix models, the new Chevrolet SUV is a project developed in China. However, it is much more interesting than the simpler products from the Onix family currently offered in Brazil.
The model has all the features a modern SUV needs, including ample safety, plenty of equipment, and onboard comfort. In dimensions, the car is close to a Taos, measuring 4.53 m in length. It has an excellent 2.70 m wheelbase, 1.82 m width, 1.56 m height, weighing a light 1341 kg, and offering excellent 425 L of cargo space in the trunk.
Chevrolet Trax 2024 Reaches Up to 13 km Per Liter
The design is the strong point of the new compact SUV, which is very well defined. In the front, we have a grille with a chrome bar that connects the full LED headlights, which are divided on the sides. The Chevrolet Trax 2024 has fluid lines and features black piano mirrors and roof racks for the RS version, with no chrome or similar details.
The wheels are 18 inches with a diamond finish. Moving to the rear, the spoiler is painted black, the bumper has a sporty detail, and the beautiful taillights are Full LED. Overall, it’s a very beautiful car.
In engine, the newest SUV from Chevrolet is much more interesting than the Tracker, which here only offers the 1.0 turboflex with 116 horsepower and the 1.2 turboflex with 133 horsepower, which are engines from Chinese origin.
In North America, the new SUV comes with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder Turbo engine with direct fuel injection that always runs on gasoline, delivers 180 horsepower and 27.5 kgfm of torque paired with a CVT automatic transmission with up to nine simulated gears.
The car’s performance is pleasing, going from 0 to 100 in 8.5 seconds, and it has good fuel consumption, able to register up to 10.9 km per liter in urban settings and 13.7 km with 1 L on the highway.
New Chevrolet Trax 2024 Has High Level of Safety
Inside, the finish is quite similar to that of its siblings, the Cruze and Equinox, meaning there are some leather areas, but hard plastic dominates here. The interior space is generous thanks to the large wheelbase, comfortably accommodating five adults with plenty of equipment.
The model is very complete, featuring keyless entry, a sound system of up to 400w, electric adjustments for the driver’s seat, heating and ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, start-stop, electronic parking brake, Auto Hold, Park Assist, a trunk with electric opening and closing with a proximity sensor, among others.
The model also includes a multifunctional steering wheel and a fully configurable 10.2-inch display panel. The multimedia system has a screen that offers wireless connectivity for Apple Carplay, Android Auto, native GPS, and a rearview camera.
In terms of safety, the new Chevrolet Trax 2024 is a well-equipped car, coming with simply everything you could imagine; even the base version offers six airbags, traction and stability controls, disc brakes with ABS on all four wheels, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.
