Unprecedented Volkswagen ID.1 electric car hits the market costing less than R$ 200.000

Last Wednesday, the 15th, Volkswagen unveiled the new unprecedented electric car that is producing, promising a vehicle smaller, cheaper, more economical and that will carry the concept of the Volkswagen ID.2 electric car, the so-called ID.1, according to the Quatro Rodas website.

The starting price of the Volkswagen ID.2 is expected to go on the market at around €25.000, and the ID.140.000 will cost approximately €1, similar to the starting price of the Polo in Germany, with taxes. Volkswagen's electric car is also equivalent to the price of the Polo Highline in Brazil, which costs R$ 20.000.

Volkswagen is striving to redefine the cheap electric car symbology, the brand is working to guarantee for the electric car of the Volkswagen an extraordinary economy for the car and make it a more profitable vehicle.

The electric car will not be as small as the VW e-Up!, which it will replace. The new Volkswagen car will be similar in size to the Polo.

Mission to make Volkswagen's new electric car a profitable vehicle

In Volkswagen's quest to make its new electric car a profitable vehicle, one way the brand has found to control costs is to share the design of its new vehicle with other car brands, such as Skoda, Seat and Cupra.

In addition, Volkswagen is also deploying cheaper chemical products and LFP batteries in electric vehicles, which are lithium iron phosphate batteries, i.e. yet another way to make the electric car more profitable.

The Volkswagen car will have an approximate capacity of 60 kWh, enough for at least 400 km of autonomy. What is expected is that the new ID.1 electric vehicle will have many components, compared to the ID.2, which will have an appearance similar to that of a Golf. The ID.1 will look similar to the Polo. Both can be sold in Brazil, but not before 2025.
