New Volkswagen Virtus 2024 Exclusive hits the market costing R$150 and promises to leave competitors behind. Volkswagen's new car also delivers great economy and a lot of performance.
The recent restyling transformed the Volkswagen Virtus 2024, giving it a new identity. The new car Volkswagen now differs significantly from the Polo, which has undergone a simplification, bringing it closer to the nivus both in technology and design. As a result, there was also a reorganization of the versions offered: the previous top of the sports line GTS it was replaced by the unprecedented Exclusive version, marking a new phase for the Volkswagen sedan.
New Volkswagen car delivers 150 horsepower
The new Volkswagen Virtus 2024 Exclusive, despite being a compact sedan, comes with a bold price of R$150, making it more expensive than midsize sedans like the Corolla GLI and Nissan Sentra Advance.
Just like the old GTS version, the Virtus Exclusive is the only one in the line equipped with a 1.4 turbo engine with 150 horsepower and 25,5 kgfm, as well as a six-speed automatic transmission — a mechanical set shared with the T-Cross models, Taos and previously used in the Tiguan and Jetta. This configuration gives the sedan superior sporting performance compared to other versions.

In tests carried out with gasoline, the Virtus Exclusive accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 9,4 seconds, 1,4 seconds faster than the Highline model, which has a 1.0 horsepower 128 turbo engine. As a result, the sedan gains more agility and performance at high speeds, despite still experiencing some turbo delay, known as turbo lag.
The steering, sporty, is direct and well balanced. Consumption is also impressive, considering the car's sporty profile: in tests, the Virtus Exclusive recorded averages of 11,7 km/l in the city and 16,5 km/l on the highway, values close to 12,5 km/l and 17,7, XNUMX km/l achieved by the version Highline.
Could the interior of Volkswagen's new car alienate customers?
The panel of the Volkswagen Virtus 2024 Exclusive, although black in search of sobriety, ends up highlighting the simplicity of the finish.
In the Highline version, a central brown stripe is used in an attempt to hide this less attractive aspect. Most surfaces are made of hard, basic-looking plastics, particularly on lower components like the center air vents and center console.
However, there are positive highlights such as the 10,25-inch configurable digital instrument panel and the 10,1-inch multimedia center compatible with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
The VW Virtus Exclusive also stands out for its complete package of standard items, which includes a face-to-face key with push-button engine start, induction cell phone charger, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, fatigue detector , adaptive autopilot, among other advanced features.
Design of Volkswagen's new car impresses
On the outside, the new Volkswagen Virtus 2024 bets on a more sophisticated design, without leaving aside sportiness. The front has honeycomb grilles, glossy black inserts, chrome and full-LED headlights.
At the back, the lanterns feature black masks and LED lighting, the chrome is repeated and there are black details in the silver version of the model, as in the Virtus and 250 TSI logos, as well as a small spoiler on the trunk lid.
On the side, in addition to the 18-inch wheels, which have a beautiful diamond finish, there is an applique with the name Exclusive divided by the front doors and the fenders.
The interior, in turn, may disappoint some buyers. The columns and ceiling give a sporty and sophisticated air, as do the seats, covered in material that imitates leather, with crossed stitching and the Exclusive name printed on it.
