The Multinational BYD Is Expanding Its Presence in Brazil and This Time Announced the First Electric and Hybrid Car Store in the Northeast. Two New Units of the Company Are Expected to Open This Month of October.
The multinational BYD, a Chinese company of electric cars, announced last week the opening of its first dealership that will sell electric and hybrid cars in the Northeast region. The Carmais BYD, named due to the partnership with the Carmais Group, began operations in Fortaleza and is located at Avenida Barão de Studart, 1630, in the Aldeota neighborhood.

The Carmais Group is a leader in new vehicle sales in Ceará and has dealerships in 20 strategic municipalities in the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará, with major brands of cars, trucks, and motorcycles in Brazil.

Ventura states that the company is ready to start a new innovative experience with BYD’s electric and hybrid cars in the Northeast market, with great differentiators and modern and extensive facilities that, in addition to selling vehicles, feature a leisure and gathering space for customers, generating total synergy between the public and the brand. The unit in the Northeast is the seventh store to be part of the BYD dealerships in Brazil.
This October, the Saga BYD dealerships in Brasília (DF) on the 19th and DVA BYD Itajaí (SC) on the 27th will also begin operations. In total, there are 31 brand nominations in the main cities of Brazil, and the goal is to finish the year with a presence in 45 municipalities and end 2023 in 100 locations in Brazil.
The Multinational BYD Begins Selling the Song Plus DM-i
Being a sales success in China, where it reached the Top 10, the BYD Song Plus DM-i has also started well in the country after finishing its first batch of 200 units in just one week.
A new batch of 250 units is available for pre-order on the multinational BYD’s electric and hybrid car website, with delivery expected to start in January next year.
This is the fourth vehicle from the company to be launched in Brazil, the BYD Song Plus is the first model from the brand to be offered in Brazil with DM-i technology, where the electric motor powers the electric car for most of the time, while the combustion engine acts as a charger for the battery.
New BYD Electric Car Can Reach 100 km/h in 7.9s
The hybrid set consists of a 1.5L engine with 110 horsepower and a torque of 13.7 kgfm that, combined with the electric unit, delivers a total of 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 32.2 kgfm.
The BYD Song Plus can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds and features 3 driving modes: Eco, Sport, and Normal. The average fuel consumption declared by the multinational BYD is 26 km/l. Using the fully electric mode, the Song Plus can drive up to 51 km.
It is important to note that, due to its optimized battery, the Chinese automaker stated that the use of blade battery is 50% greater compared to previous products, with its range reaching the same level as ternary lithium batteries.
