Arrival of New Chinese Company in Brazil Could Generate 500 New Jobs and Boost Smartphone Sector. Realme Joins Famous Brands Already Popular Here Like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Vivo That Will Arrive Soon.
Realme, one of the fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in the world, officially announced on Wednesday (23) the inauguration of the brand’s first factory in Latin America, located in Manaus (AM). The new facility will have the capacity to produce up to 20,000 mobile phones per day, in partnership with the manufacturer Digitron, and is expected to generate 500 direct and indirect jobs in the region. This move marks the definitive entry of Chinese company Realme into Brazil with local production, reinforcing its strategy for growth and competitiveness in a market dominated by giants like Samsung and Apple.
Cell Phone Factory in Manaus Should Boost National Industry
The new cell phone factory in Manaus represents a strategic step for Realme to reduce operational costs, increase the supply of products in Brazil, and establish itself as a reference brand in the mid-range and premium smartphone segment.
Local production will also allow for greater logistical agility and could generate positive impacts on the electronics supply chain of the Manaus Free Trade Zone, as the operation has the support of Digitron, a manufacturer experienced in partnerships with brands like Asus, Acer, and Intel.

Realme Bets on Series 14 to Conquer Brazilian Market
The launch of the Realme 14 line, particularly the 14 Pro+ model, is at the center of the company’s strategy. The smartphone features AI cameras, digital zoom of up to 120x, and Snapdragon processor, along with an updated Android operating system. Prices for the new line range from R$ 2,799 to R$ 4,799, positioning the products in direct competition with devices from Xiaomi and Samsung.
With this portfolio, the Chinese company Realme aims to cater to an audience seeking high performance at competitive prices, specifically targeting young consumers and those connected with cutting-edge technology, photography, and gaming.
Jobs in Electronics Factory Highlight of Initiative
The opening of Realme’s industrial unit in Amazonas anticipates the creation of 500 jobs in electronics factory, including direct and indirect positions. Direct jobs are expected to be filled by local industry professionals, while indirect jobs involve services in transportation, logistics, food, maintenance, and security.
It is expected that, with the expansion of activities and the consolidation of the brand in the country, new vacancies will be opened and the operation will scale up in the coming months, following the demand for smartphones in the Brazilian market.
Realme Aims to Compete with Samsung and Apple in Brazil
The arrival of Realme in Brazil with national production happens in a competitive environment. South Korean Samsung, the leader in sales in the country, was the company that received the most tax incentives from the Manaus Free Trade Zone in 2024, with a waiver of approximately R$ 1 billion, according to data from the Federal Revenue.
Despite this, there is no confirmation whether Realme will have access to the same tax benefits, which will depend on the formalization of its inclusion in the incentive programs planned by the Superintendency of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa).
Even without confirmed exemptions, the company’s strategy is clear: produce locally to reduce import duties and gain competitive margin against already established brands.
Realme Expands Presence in Latin America
With the new unit in Manaus, Realme strengthens its commitment to the Latin American market. Prior to the factory, the company had already experienced steady growth in sales in countries like Mexico, Colombia, and Chile, with aggressive marketing campaigns aimed at young audiences.
Brazil, with one of the largest bases of smartphone consumers in the world, is now becoming the distribution center of the brand for all of Latin America, which should facilitate regional expansion and the establishment of new sales channels.
Partnership with Digitron Enables Production at Scale
The manufacturing operation will be carried out in conjunction with Digitron, a Brazilian company that has been active in the electronics sector for over 30 years. The partnership ensures technical know-how, existing infrastructure, and agility in production, especially at a time when logistical timelines and the availability of materials continue to be global challenges.
Digitron also already has relationships with other prominent brands, indicating confidence in the industry’s practices of the company and reducing the time needed for Realme to achieve production stability.
Factory in Manaus Should Impact Distribution and Final Price
In addition to creating jobs and boosting the local economy, the production of Realme smartphones in the country is expected to result in competitive advantages in the final price for consumers. Without the tax burden of imported products, the devices can be offered at more accessible prices, expanding the brand’s reach.
Additionally, the presence of the unit in the Manaus Industrial Hub allows for easier access to electronic components and logistics centers, which could reduce replenishment times in stores and avoid supply issues.
