New Version of the Pickup Arrives Cheaper than the RAM 1500, Betting on Reinforced Suspension and the Iconic 5.0 Coyote Engine to Conquer the Market.
Ford has just launched in Brazil the Ford F-150 Tremor, a version with a distinctly off-road appeal that positions itself aggressively in the large pickup market. Equipped with the renowned 5.0 V8 Coyote engine with 405 horsepower, the new configuration goes beyond visual details and brings an enhanced mechanical set, designed to tackle challenging terrains. With a launch price that places it below the main rival, the RAM 1500, Ford’s pickup promises to intensify competition for consumer preference.
The standout feature of the Ford F-150 Tremor is its factory preparation. Unlike versions that rely solely on decals, this model incorporates reinforced suspension with exclusive shock absorbers, high-performance all-terrain tires, and a ground clearance of 27.7 cm, which is superior to the Lariat version. According to first impressions from Carro Chefe, this combination ensures not only a more imposing look but also a real ability to overcome obstacles with safety and robustness.
The Heart of the Beast: A Root V8 in the Turbo Era
While part of the market adopts smaller turbo engines, the Ford F-150 Tremor bets on brute force and the reliability of the 5.0 V8 Coyote naturally aspirated engine. Running on gasoline, it delivers 405 horsepower and a torque of 56.7 kgf.m, ensuring an immediate response to the accelerator and a sound that pleases purists. The transmission is 10-speed automatic, the same as that used in other high-performance models from the brand, such as the Mustang, providing smooth and efficient shifts.

With a 1.0 engine producing 75 hp and costing less than R$ 70,000, Fiat’s car returns to the podium as the cheapest in the country; a temporary promotion for the 2026 Like version reduces the price of the Fiat Mobi.

With a 293.5 cm³ engine and a range of up to 400 km with a 14.1-liter tank, the Honda CB 300F Twister 2026 has up to 24.7 hp, an initial price of R$ 25,150, and already exceeds R$ 29,000 in the Fipe Table.
Despite its 2,550 kg, the power-to-weight ratio of 6.3 kg/hp is impressive and translates into vigorous performance. According to Ford’s data, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.1 seconds, a noteworthy number for a vehicle of this size. The traction is 4×4 with various activation options, including the 4A mode, which distributes power on demand to the front axle, simulating an all-wheel-drive system for greater safety in curves and low-traction surfaces.
Designed for Work and Adventure
The Tremor package is not just about the engine and suspension. The exterior design features exclusive finishes in a bronze tone, present in the front grille and internal details. The front end sports a steel skid plate, reinforcing its off-road capabilities. The rear, in turn, showcases a dual exhaust and a cargo bed with a capacity of 1,370 liters, equipped with an electric opening tailgate and a series of features for those who use the pickup for work.
One of the highlights, as pointed out by Carro Chefe, is the functionality of the cargo bed. It has residential standard outlets, LED lighting, and even an integrated ruler on the tailgate, which can serve as a workbench. The declared payload capacity is 671 kg, a strategic figure allowing the pickup to be driven with a category B driver’s license and avoiding circulation restrictions in large urban centers, such as São Paulo’s rotation.
Technology and Comfort in Generous Dimensions

Inside, the Ford F-150 Tremor offers a monumental interior space, especially for rear seat passengers, who benefit from a flat floor and dedicated air conditioning vents. The finish combines leather with fabric and high-quality plastics, creating a comfortable and functional environment. The dashboard is dominated by a 12-inch multimedia center with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which can split the screen to display multiple information simultaneously.
The list of features is extensive and includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, 360° camera system, and the innovative Pro Trailer, which aids in towing maneuvers. A notable and very functional detail is the retractable gear selector: with a button press, it retracts and allows the armrest to turn into a work table. However, Carro Chefe points out the absence of a soft-top as a standard item, an accessory considered essential for using a pickup in Brazil.
Price and Market Positioning: Is It Worth It?
Launched at R$ 519,990, the Ford F-150 Tremor is more expensive than the Lariat version but positions itself competitively as it is cheaper than the RAM 1500 Rebel (currently around R$ 539,990). The choice between them will depend on the consumer’s profile. While the RAM offers a more powerful biturbo V6 engine and an air suspension with height adjustment, Ford bets on the robustness and sound of the naturally aspirated V8, in addition to a more “authentic” off-road package.
Fuel consumption, as expected, is not the strong point of a 5.0-liter V8. Official numbers indicate 4.7 km/l in the city and 6.6 km/l on the highway, requiring a 136-liter tank to ensure good range. Therefore, the purchasing decision hinges on weighing the proposition of brute force, improved off-road capability, and cost-effectiveness against its main competitor.
The Ford F-150 Tremor proves to be an intelligent addition to the brand’s portfolio, focused on a niche that values both performance and the capability to go beyond paved roads. It combines the tradition of a V8 engine with modern technology and a price that makes it a highly interesting option in the segment.
And you, what do you think of Ford’s strategy? Do you believe that the combination of the V8 engine with the off-road package and a lower price will be enough to surpass the RAM 1500? Leave your opinion in the comments, we want to know what you think about this battle of giants.
