One of the largest electric vehicle companies in India recently announced its new cheap electric scooter. Ola Electric has innovated by launching its Ola SX1, S1X+, and S13, all with very competitive prices, controlled average speed, and significant autonomy. Ola Electric continues to stand out in the electric market by providing high-quality options at low prices.
Cheap Electric Scooter Delivers Autonomy of 151 km
Thus, the company’s goal is to offer motorcycles focused on urban use, which are extremely economical and capable of carrying one or two people over shorter distances. The new models were presented to consumers last month, when the brand held Ola Customer Day. In addition to the new models, the company also revealed its plans for the coming years.
The S1X+ and S13 are the mid-range models from Ola Electric, equipped with a 3 kWh battery that delivers an autonomy of 151 km on a single charge. Thus, the maximum speed of these vehicles is 90 km/h.

In the case of the cheap electric scooter S1X, it is the entry-level model with a less powerful battery of only 2 kWh, however, despite having a weaker battery, it delivers an autonomy of 90 km and a maximum speed of 85 km/h. Regarding the design, all versions are simple, yet very functional in their objectives.
Thus, the electric scooters from the company are quite reminiscent of Brazilian scooters, but with fewer body details, especially at the front. Furthermore, Ola Electric allows consumers to add practical features to the models, such as the flat floor designed to store a bag in the space between the consumer’s legs, for example.
Price of the New Electric Scooter Catches the Attention of Consumers
Another point worth highlighting about the new models from Ola Electric is the prices charged. The prices for the S1X line start at 89,999 rupees, equivalent to R$ 5,383. The S1X+ is sold at a slightly higher price, at 99,999 rupees, equivalent to R$ 5,986.
Now, the priciest version of the family is the S13, marketed at 109,999, equivalent to R$ 6,533. In India, consumers who cannot afford the price of the models can opt for a subscription plan. Plans start at 2,099 rupees per month, about R$ 123.45 in direct conversion.
For those looking to acquire a premium scooter, Ola Electric also offers the S1 Pro Gen 2 option. The model is more robust, combining performance and high autonomy for riders. With a larger electric motor than those of the aforementioned versions, 11 kWh and a power of 15 hp, the cheap electric scooter can reach 40 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The S1 Pro Gen 2 can reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h, with an average autonomy per charge of 195 km.
BYD is Developing Its First Electric Scooter
BYD, a Chinese giant that operates in electric car production, announced in recent months that it will enter the electric scooter sector. The multinational will indirectly participate in the segment. In November 2021, the electric vehicle startup Scorpio Electric from Singapore showcased its first electric scooter, called X1.
At the time, still in concept form, the electric scooter seemed to be an attempt to reflect the growing trend of maxi-scooters. Now, about two years after the announcement of the design concept, scooters have witnessed significant growth, initially in the European market.
