The New BYD Song Pro DM-i 2026 Combines Extreme Efficiency with Plug-In Hybrid Engine and Promises to Impress the Market by Driving Up to 1,508 km on a Full Tank and a Full Charge, Setting a New Reference in Consumption Among Electrified SUVs
BYD officially presented in China the BYD Song Pro DM-i 2026, the new generation of the plug-in hybrid SUV that has dominated the segment for its combination of low consumption and high range. The model achieves 31 km per liter in the NEDC cycle and offers a total range of 1,508 km, combining internal combustion engine and electric propeller.
With balanced performance and reduced operating costs, the BYD Song Pro DM-i 2026 reinforces the automaker’s strategy to establish itself as a global reference in affordable electrification. The model arrives in the Chinese market with technical and visual adjustments that enhance comfort, efficiency, and embedded technology.
Three Versions and Up to 133 km of Electric Range
The hybrid SUV is available in three configurations, ranging from 99,800 to 122,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately R$ 75,000 to R$ 93,000 in direct conversion.

Fiat works miracles in the Brazilian market, lowers the price of its 0 km hatch to R$ 69,990, reestablishes the model as the cheapest car in the country, and reignites the battle against Kwid and C3.
Each version delivers differing ranges of electric autonomy of 75 km, 115 km, and 133 km to meet urban and highway usage profiles.
All variants utilize a set formed by a 1.5L internal combustion engine paired with a high-efficiency electric propeller, operating under BYD’s latest generation DM-i hybrid system.
The average consumption of only 3.2 liters every 100 km places the Song Pro among the most economical models in the category worldwide.
Evolutionary Design and New Interior Focused on Comfort
Visually, the BYD Song Pro DM-i 2026 preserves the identity of the previous generation but brings subtle improvements that enhance aerodynamics.
The new active front grille regulates airflow and contributes to energy efficiency.
Inside, the changes are more evident.
The SUV received a new center console, gear shift lever repositioned on the steering column, and an 8.8-inch digital panel, accompanied by a multimedia center of 12.8 or 15.6 inches with the DiLink 100 system.
There are also independent physical controls for the main functions and new connectivity options, including integrated karaoke, screen mirroring, and immersive ambient modes.
Technology and Latest Generation Semi-Autonomous Assistance
Among the highlights of the new technological set is the “God’s Eye C” assistance package, which includes semi-autonomous driving functions on highways and automated parking.
These features are part of BYD’s strategy to expand the use of embedded intelligence in its hybrid models.
The combination of hybrid engine, intelligent software, and aerodynamic optimization demonstrates the brand’s maturity in developing vehicles focused on economy and comfort, reinforcing BYD’s prominence in both the Chinese and global markets.
Brazilian Production and the Arrival of the National Version
In Brazil, the BYD Song Pro DM-i is already sold in the plug-in hybrid version assembled at the plant in Camaçari (BA), the brand’s first industrial unit outside of Asia.
Starting in 2026, the national SUV is expected to adopt the same design as the Chinese model and debut the new hybrid flex engine, capable of operating with ethanol and electricity.
This solution is considered pioneering in the world, adapting electrification to the reality of Brazilian fuel.
The bet is that the flex-electric set will consolidate the Song Pro as the most efficient hybrid SUV in the category, combining high range with low emissions and reduced operating costs.
Efficiency as BYD’s Global Strategy
With over 133,000 units sold just in the first half of 2025, the Song Pro DM-i remains one of the most popular hybrid vehicles in China.
The model reflects BYD’s philosophy of making electrification accessible, efficient, and scalable, a strategy that also guides the brand’s advancement in Latin America.
The focus on energy efficiency and expanded autonomy not only reinforces the role of the Song Pro DM-i in the brand’s portfolio but also points to the future of hybrid mobility as a balance between performance, sustainability, and practicality.
Do you believe that hybrid SUVs like the BYD Song Pro DM-i 2026 will be the standard in the Brazilian market in the coming years, or should the country still prioritize traditional flex engines before full electrification?
