Chevrolet officially presented the Cruze 2026 for the Middle Eastern market last week, marking the brand’s return to the compact sedan segment in some international markets.
The model adopts a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine capable of delivering 113 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
The engine uses a timing chain, a solution that eliminates the need for periodic belt replacements and reduces maintenance costs, and works in conjunction with a six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.

The LT version enhances protection with four airbags and rear parking sensors while retaining the same driving assistance systems as the entry-level version.
The warranty for all served markets is three years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
Manufacturing takes place in China, through the SAIC-GM partnership, with distribution targeted at countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Bahrain.
There is no forecast for sales in the United Arab Emirates.
History and Relationship with Brazil
The name Cruze has been known to the Brazilian public since 2011, when it replaced the Vectra in Chevrolet’s portfolio.
Initially produced at the factory in São Caetano do Sul (SP) and later in Argentina, the sedan had good sales in its first generation, but lost ground in recent years to SUVs and more economical models.
In 2023, the automaker ended Cruze production in the region, keeping only the Onix Plus in the compact sedan segment.
The new Cruze 2026, although it carries the same name, derives from the Chevrolet Monza sedan sold in China.
This strategy of repurposing existing models for different markets has been used by Chevrolet on other occasions, such as with the Cavalier in Mexico and the Captiva EV in South America.

Tenho um Cruze LTZ II 2018 com 109MKM, tirei 0KM em 10/2018, fiz todas as revisões de 10/10 MKM, já fiz 18,5 km/o em estrada a 100/120/h, lamento que não seja mais produzido, em detrimento dessas **** travestidas de SUV hoje em dia. Fiz um test drive no Ônix e na Tracker, que decepção. Como gosto de sedan, vou ter que migrar para um Corolla, embora não goste do carro. É uma pena a GM não trazer pelo menos o Monza mexicano.
O carro é híbrido. Esqueceu de falar do motor elétrico e da potência conjunta.
Esse motor de 113cv é do Aveo, ele não rende tal potência, no México ele tem 98cv, por aqui, se vier vai render em torno de 101/109cv, não é turbo, e não tem nada haver com novo Cruze (se é que terá). Se tivesse um motor turbo, talvez seria o 1.3 turbo híbrido de 163cv (combinados) que roda no Cavalier na China. Mas a GM já bateu o martelo que não trará o Cavalier (vulgo Cruze) para o Brasil, custo de produção elevada.
