City of Macaé

Airport, Port Terminal and Transport Highway form a logistics belt, supporting the new investments that will come with the incentive program in Macaé

The city of Macaé gains breath with economic potential in the new cycle of logistical movement, which is being driven by the permanence of Macaé Airport in the Southeast concession block of the Ministry of Transport and the evolution of the licensing of the Port Terminal (TEMPOR). The Avança Macaé Development Program, which was drawn up by the Executive and pending in the Legislative, brought together the actions, in addition to the imminent prospect of construction of the Transport Highway.

This highway will connect TEMPOR to RJ-168 which leaves the city for BR-101. With that, the Transport Highway, the Port Terminal and the Airport form the logistical belt that supports the new investments that will come with the incentive program.

According to Dr. Aluízio, current mayor of the city, the concession of Macaé Airport, adding the TEMPOR public hearing (which was held yesterday on the 7th) and the previous license from Transportuária, place the city and region as the biggest window of logistical development in the State of Rio de January. The mayor, in addition to leading demonstrations to create jobs since the oil crisis, has already celebrated other advances such as the reduction in the collection of royalties in the mature fields, the renewal of Repetro and the pre- and post-salt bidding rounds.

The Transport Highway will provide logistical support, from which the road licensing process was released and the start of works is scheduled for next year (2019), where it should be built on municipal property, with private funds. According to the municipal license, the implementation foresees a simple road and standard elevation with a carriageway with a track of about 18 thousand meters in length and 14 meters in regular width to be implanted between the future Logistic and Industrial Complex of Macaé (CLIMA) and the Port Terminal thus promoting the road connection between these two developments.

The mayor of the city also stated that TEMPOR represents a new logistical scenario for Macaé, coming not only to meet the demand of the oil industry, but above all the gas industry, which contributed a lot to a new phase of development, new jobs and a new socioeconomic life.

Contributing positively to the project, the Transport Highway being a major event at the national level when public and private resources add up to accomplish a significant good for an entire region.

Based on studies that ensure that compensation will not impact the administration's fiscal targets, the Avança Macaé Development program was created. The Avança Macaé program seeks to expand the municipal government's capacity to act with the contribution of initiatives by individuals or legal entities in the development of the city, always putting the directly benefited population first.
