New High School Competition of Caixa Econômica Federal Should Arrive Soon: Institution Calls More Than 800 Remainders of Previous Public Competition.

Although there is still no scheduled date for the publication of the announcement, a new public competition of Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) aimed at the position of banking technician, for effective filling, may happen still in 2023. The institution has not published a selection for this position since 2014 and, in May, called 800 remainders from the selection, after years of judicial uncertainties.

Responsibilities for the High School Competition Position at Caixa Econômica

Those who are approved in the Caixa Econômica Federal competition for the position of banking technician will be responsible for providing public service, identifying clients, verifying the authenticity of signatures, documents, and fingerprints when specific training is carried out, developing, drafting, and reviewing documents and correspondence in general, performing administrative activities and banking operations, using technological equipment and tools, entering and consulting data in computerized operating systems and other applications related to their activities, as well as assisting in their maintenance and improvement, executing other activities inherent to the occupational content of the positions, performing various calculations and numerical controls, identifying and pointing out ways to improve the processes they work in.

Those interested in competing for the high school competition for the position of banking technician must have completed high school education and will receive an initial salary of R$ 3,000. In addition to the salary, those approved in the public competition of Caixa Econômica Federal will benefit from various perks such as profit sharing, meal or food assistance, transportation voucher, childcare assistance, opportunities for professional advancement, complementary benefits, access to training and development actions.

With the institution’s call in May, a new public competition may be announced soon. Furthermore, in June it was determined that the next Caixa Econômica Federal competition should only be held for immediate vacancies, without a reserve pool of personnel.

The adjustment was agreed upon between Caixa and the Public Labor Ministry (MPT), with participation from the National Federation of Caixa Econômica Federal Associations (Fenae) and the National Confederation of Workers in the Financial Sector (Contraf). Thus, although there is still no precise date for the start of the public competition, those planning to enter the career can already begin their studies.

In addition to the last Caixa Econômica Federal competition for general admission for banking technician, which began in 2014, a new selection process occurred in 2021 for filling 1,100 vacancies, focusing only on candidates with disabilities, with 1,000 for immediate filling and 100 for personnel reserve.

The opportunities were aimed at the positions of banking technician, focusing on operations in agencies in the 27 units of the federation and banking technicians in the information technology sector, located only in Brasília, Federal District.

The selection process included discursive and objective tests. The objective part consisted of 60 questions on subjects such as:

financial mathematics;
specific knowledge;
Portuguese language;
banking knowledge.

In 2014, the high school competition for filling vacancies for banking technician was held only for a personnel reserve. Organized by the Promotion and Events Center, CESPE, where 1,156,744 candidates registered, with the center having the highest number of candidates being Rio de Janeiro, with 43,656 registrations. In the same year, another announcement was published only for higher-level positions. There were 9 vacancies plus personnel reserve for engineering positions in various specialties and occupational physician.
