New Generation of the Compact SUV Arrives with Turbo Engine, Dual Clutch Transmission, Expanded Technology Package and Consumption Above 14 km/l on the Road, Marking a New Phase of National Production in Resende and Repositioning in the Brazilian Market.

Nissan has launched the new generation of the Kicks in the Brazilian market, now equipped with a 1.0 turbo flex engine, dual clutch automated transmission, and new driver assistance systems.

The model is produced at the Industrial Complex in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, and records a highway consumption of 14.3 km/l with gasoline, according to data from Inmetro released by the manufacturer and specialized vehicles.

Nissan keeps the Kicks Play, the previous generation, as a lower-priced alternative, while the new Kicks operates at a higher price level.

1.0 Turbo Engine and DCT Transmission Change the Proposal of the Kicks 2026

The main change is in the mechanical set.

The Kicks 2026 adopts the turbo engine commercially identified as 220T, with 125 hp of power and 220 Nm of torque, numbers reported by the manufacturer.

The maximum torque is delivered with both ethanol and gasoline, according to technical specifications released at launch.

According to Nissan, the increase in torque compared to the old 1.6 aspirated engine provides faster responses in acceleration.

The DCT dual clutch transmission replaces the CVT transmission from the previous generation, marking a significant change in the mechanical proposal of the model.

Inside, the electronic gear selector replaces the conventional lever.

In certain versions, the vehicle offers paddles behind the steering wheel for manual shifts, as described by the brand in its technical material.

Urban and Highway Consumption According to Inmetro

The numbers for energy efficiency are based on Inmetro certification.

In the highway cycle, the model registers 14.3 km/l with gasoline and 9.9 km/l with ethanol.

In the urban cycle, the reported averages are 11.7 km/l with gasoline and 7.8 km/l with ethanol.

These figures place the vehicle within the range observed for turbo compact SUVs, according to comparisons published by automotive portals.

As is the case with any model, actual consumption may vary depending on usage conditions, route, and driving style.

Price of the Nissan Kicks 2026 and Market Positioning

The latest public price list from Nissan indicates an initial price around R$ 168,690 for the Kicks 2026, potentially reaching approximately R$ 199,000 for the top-of-the-line version.

Prices may vary by region and options.

Meanwhile, the Kicks Play continues to be advertised with an initial price close to R$ 117,990, according to the manufacturer’s official website.

As such, the commercial strategy maintains two generations coexisting in dealerships, each targeting a distinct profile of consumer.

Records of previous updates show that the entry version of the new Kicks was once advertised for R$ 166,990 after adjustments.

The variation reflects the pricing policy adopted throughout the year.

Digital Interior with 24.6-Inch Screens and Bose Sound

Among the interior innovations, the two integrated screens of 12.3 inches each stand out, forming a total of 24.6 inches, according to specifications released by Nissan.

The dashboard combines a digital instrument cluster and multimedia center in a single horizontal frame.

The Bose Personal Plus audio system, mentioned by the manufacturer, includes 10 speakers, with units installed in the front headrests.

The goal, according to the company, is to provide greater sound immersion for the driver and the front passenger.

Also available are items such as wireless phone charger and smartphone integration, depending on the configuration chosen.

ProPILOT and Level 2 Driver Assistance

The most complete version comes with ProPILOT, classified by Nissan as a level 2 driver assistance system on the SAE scale.

In this category, the vehicle can assist with acceleration, braking, and lane maintenance but requires constant supervision from the driver.

The model can also include features such as adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera, depending on the version.

These features follow a trend already observed in direct competitors in the segment.

National Production in Resende and Investments of R$ 2.8 Billion

The production of the new Kicks is part of a cycle of investments of R$ 2.8 billion announced by Nissan for Brazil.

The amount was reported by the company in communications regarding the modernization of the Resende factory.

In August 2024, the manufacturer announced that the Kicks reached 350,000 units produced in the country since the beginning of local manufacturing.

YouTube Video

By the end of 2024, the company also reported achieving an annual sales record for the model in the Brazilian market.

In addition to internal supply, Nissan announced the export of the new Kicks to Paraguay, expanding the reach of Brazilian production in the region.

Revisions Every 10,000 km or 12 Months

According to the brand’s manual and maintenance plan, revisions follow an interval of 10,000 kilometers or 12 months, whichever comes first.

The total cost depends on the version and services performed at each stage.

With higher prices and greater technological content, the Kicks 2026 competes for consumers who consider not only fuel consumption but also equipment, safety, and connectivity.
