In the state of Rio de Janeiro, Firjan plays a crucial role in this evolving landscape.
Led by President Eduardo Eugenio Gouvêa Vieira and 1st Vice President Luiz Césio Caetano, the federation will be responsible for allocating resources and investments in the state.
The industrial entity has been actively involved in the new PAC, as its proposals and visions align with the program’s purpose.
Rio de Janeiro will be the biggest beneficiary of the government’s billion-dollar investment, with a colossal R$ 342.6 billion allocated for works and services benefiting the local population.
The suggestions and contributions from Firjan, resulting from the hard work of the Industrial Policy Working Group, reinforce the importance of this strategic alignment with the federation in Rio de Janeiro.
“It is a great satisfaction to receive the announcement of these works that can help Brazil make considerable progress. The PAC coincides largely with part of the work of Agenda Brazil 4.0. These are proposals that Firjan is absolutely involved with and will greatly contribute to the development of Rio de Janeiro,” stated Eduardo Eugenio.
In the state of Rio de Janeiro, the oil and gas market is a major highlight of the new PAC investment, as 40% of the projects benefiting from the funds come from this segment.
Firjan Will Advance the Angra 3 Project with Investments from the New PAC
One of the main infrastructure development initiatives of the New PAC is advancing studies for the construction of the Angra 3 nuclear power plant.
Firjan, aware of the importance of safe energy for the country, advocates for the completion of this project. The plant is a fundamental pillar to ensure national energy security, representing a significant step towards autonomy and sustainability of energy supply.
In the oil and gas sector, the New PAC brings ambitious plans. The highlight is the Integrated Project Rota 3, designed to transport and process part of the natural gas from the pre-salt in the Santos Basin.
This strategic infrastructure project will not only contribute to the sector’s expansion but also reinforce Rio de Janeiro’s position as a crucial hub for the energy industry.
Thus, the launch of the New PAC and its positive impact on Rio de Janeiro and Brazil as a whole underscore the importance of strategic partnerships like that of Firjan, which plays a central role in promoting development, sustainability, and competitiveness in the national scenario.
