The Start of Construction of the New Bulk Terminal at the Port of Santos Reinforces the Company’s Commitment to the Valongo Region. Cofco International Brazil Is Focused on Starting Operations by 2025.

Cofco International Brazil kicked off a significant stage of its activity expansion at the Port of Santos last Tuesday (08/08) by launching the construction of a new terminal for bulk materials. This strategic initiative not only highlights the company’s expansionist vision in the port scenario but also promises to boost cargo handling capacity and foster economic development in the Valongo region.

Cofco International Brazil Plans to Start Operations at the New Bulk Terminal in 2025

Cofco International Brazil marks an important milestone in the port scenario by beginning construction on an innovative bulk terminal at the Port of Santos, one of the largest port complexes in the country.

This initiative promises not only to strengthen port infrastructure but also to boost the economy of the Valongo region and create development opportunities.

The infrastructure company has taken the lead in launching the construction of the new terminal at the Port of Santos. Its strategic vision aims to meet the growing demands of the industry, focusing on the handling of solid bulk agricultural products.

This action not only demonstrates confidence in Brazil’s logistical capabilities but also points to a long-term partnership with the country.

The new solid bulk terminal promises to revolutionize the port capacity at the Port of Santos.

With operations expected to begin by 2025, its full functionality by 2026 will bring significant improvements to cargo handling, allowing the company’s capacity to increase to up to 14 million tons of products.

The acquisition of the right to operate terminal STS 11 by the company occurred in an auction last year, solidifying Cofco International Brazil’s commitment to the Port of Santos.

The substantial investment of over R$ 764 million signals a vote of confidence in the economic potential of the region.

This strategic collaboration also emphasizes the crucial role of international partnerships in promoting sustainable economic growth.

New Project by Cofco International Brazil Plans to Plant 430 Trees in the Port of Santos Region

In addition to the construction of the new bulk terminal at the Port of Santos, Cofco International Brazil demonstrates its commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Through the implementation of Parque Valongo and the planting of 430 trees in underprivileged neighborhoods in Santos, the company aims to contribute to the improvement of the local environment throughout the development of its project.

The impact of the new terminal will also extend beyond port activities, as the company intends to provide significant stimulus to the regional economy.

With the forecast of creating 11,000 indirect jobs by the end of the construction, the new terminal project reinforces Cofco’s role as a job creator and a driver of socioeconomic development.

Cofco International Brazil’s presence at the Port of Santos marks a moment of historical significance, where the celebration focuses on the start of construction, laden with special importance.

The effort and dedication permeating the entire project reflect the company’s commitment, supported by the strong backing of the APS president and the mayor of Santos.

The company has high expectations regarding the completion of the STS11 project, driven by the prospect of our food reaching all corners of the world, as well as the full realization of Parque Valongo, as highlighted by Wang Yunchao, vice president of Cofco International.

Now, Cofco International Brazil is charting a path of progress, partnership, and environmental commitment, aiming to become a global reference in port handling operations.
