NSK Will Present Technologies for the Brazilian Mining Industry at Exposibram 2021  

NSK, a reference in bearings, is participating in Exposibram 2021, an event scheduled to take place online from October 5 to 7, where it will present new technologies aimed at the mining industry in a technical lecture on October 6 (Wednesday) from 10 to 11 am. In addition to the content schedule, the company will also have a virtual booth, where a sales team will be available to explain the benefits and differentiating factors of its products and services.

In Addition to Participating in the Exhibition with a Virtual Booth, the Company Will Have Space in the Content Schedule with a Technical Lecture  

This is an opportune moment, as the mining industry is experiencing a good phase. Last year, the sector generated R$ 208.9 billion, about 36.2% more than in 2019, according to data from the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM). With higher levels of activity and production, companies need to update equipment to optimize processes and results, which represents an important window of opportunities for NSK.

Investments: KPTL Launches Fund to Invest in Mining-Related Startups in Brazil

The venture capital manager KPTL is launching an investment fund dedicated to attracting startups that develop technologies for the mining sector. With the support of the Brazilian Mining Institute (Ibram), the fund, the first of its kind in Latin America, aims to raise R$ 500 million in up to two years. The expected return rate is 25% per year.

“The idea behind the KPTL Mining Fund is to boost the innovation ecosystem within the sector, providing shareholder companies access to solutions from startups that are already at a more mature stage,” says KPTL.

According to the manager, with the fund, mining companies leverage their individual Corporate Venture and Open Innovation initiatives. The goal is that in a second phase, conditions will be created for these startups to become targets for investment or acquisition, after having received investment and governance from the KPTL management team for several years.

Information and Registrations for the Event That Will Present New Technologies Promising to Revolutionize the Mining Industry

In the content segment, NSK will present the lecture “NSK Technologies in the Mining Industry,” led by Ricardo Rocha de Oliveira, application engineering manager, and Rodrigo de Paula Pereira, application engineering supervisor.

The focus of the professionals’ presentation will be on two types of technology: self-aligning sealed spherical roller bearings, which are of utmost importance for bearings used in conveyors in the mining and quarrying industries, and self-aligning spherical roller bearings for vibratory equipment, frequently found in equipment used in mining, aggregates, cement, and construction industries.  

At the booth, the NSK team will highlight tools used for the enhancement and maintenance of bearings, such as inductive heaters, lubricants, tightening wrenches, extractors, bearing pullers, and assembly cases. In the Services section, it will be possible to learn more about the bearing repotentiation process and other customized services for the mining segment according to each end user’s needs.
