Nokia Laboratory to Be Installed This Year in RN
According to Rodrigo Mello, director of the Gas and Renewable Energy Technologies Center (CTGAS-ER) and the SENAI Institute of Innovation in Renewable Energies, the estimated timeline is for the laboratory to be installed still this year at CTGAS – a SENAI unit that acts as a sort of mini-industry to prepare professionals for the future.
According to the director, after a meeting with Nokia Brazil’s president, Ailton Santos, the laboratory will be used primarily for training professionals in embedded technologies, enhancing existing courses, as well as launching new courses and also mobilizing companies for the use of Industry 4.0 technologies. The goal, according to Mello, is for the SENAI RN laboratory to include industrial plants with 5G technology using IoT, industrial robotics, and cloud computing.

Meeting at SENAI/SP Promises Changes in Industry 4.0
The meeting to define the project took place in SP, where a laboratory was established in partnership with Nokia last September. In SP, the OpenLab for Industry 4.0 is an advanced manufacturing facility where companies test their new technologies and future professionals learn by practicing.
In addition to enabling integration between robots, technology provides mobility to managers for control and monitoring, allowing users to have information about their assets and other data on their personal devices.
Nokia Will Train All Professionals in the New Laboratory at SENAI RN
Regarding RN, the project provides that Nokia will offer, in addition to the necessary technology, effective training for the CTGAS team. SENAI will be responsible for training professionals for the industry and mobilizing companies.
According to Rodrigo Mello, the meeting with the company in SP aimed to provoke an “equal” initiative for the creation of an educational solution on the subject of Industry 4.0.
Mello states that solutions have already been discussed and built; now only financial solution discussions remain. The importance of installing a laboratory in RN with these aspects is highlighted by SENAI as its commitment to invest and operate in Potiguar territory as a Hub for Technology and Innovation (HIT).
