NSK will present technologies for the Brazilian mining industry at Exposibram 2021  

NSK, a reference in bearings, participates in Exposibram 2021, an event scheduled to take place online between October 5th and 7th, where it will present new technologies aimed at the mining industry in a technical lecture, on October 6th (Wednesday). fair) from 10 am to 10 am. In addition to the space on the content grid, the company will also have a virtual stand, where a commercial team will be available to explain the benefits and differentials of products and services.

The moment is opportune, as the mining industry is going through a good phase. Last year, the sector earned BRL 208,9 billion, about 36,2% more than in 2019, according to data from the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM). With increased levels of activity and production, companies need to upgrade equipment to optimize processes and results, which means an important window of opportunity for NSK.

Investments: KPTL launches fund to invest in mining-related startups in Brazil

Venture capital manager KPTL is launching an investment fund dedicated to attracting startups that develop technologies for the mining sector. With the support of the Brazilian Mining Institute (Ibram), the fund, the first of its kind in Latin America, intends to raise R$ 500 million in up to two years. The expected rate of return is 25% per year.

“The idea of ​​the KPTL Mineração Fund is to boost the innovation ecosystem within the sector, offering shareholder companies access to startup solutions that are already at a more mature stage,” says KPTL.

According to the manager, with the fund, mining companies leverage their individual Corporate Venture and Open Innovation initiatives. The objective is that, in a second moment, conditions are created so that these startups can be the target of investments or acquisition, after having received the investment and governance by the KPTL management team for a few years.

In the content part, NSK will present the lecture “NSK Technologies in the mining industry”, given by Ricardo Rocha de Oliveira, application engineering manager, and Rodrigo de Paula Pereira, application engineering supervisor.

The focus of the professionals' presentation will be on two types of technology: sealed spherical roller bearings, which are of paramount importance for bearings used on conveyors in the mining and quarrying industry, and spherical roller bearings for vibrating equipment, often found in equipment used in mining, aggregates, cement and construction industries.  

At the stand, the NSK team will highlight tools that are used in the improvement and maintenance of bearings such as, for example, inductive heaters, lubricants, tightening wrenches, extractors, bearing puller and assembly case. In the Services part, it will be possible to learn more about the bearing repowering process and other customized services for the mining segment and according to the needs of each end user.
