The program will be conducted through an unprecedented collaboration model between edtechs Cubos Academy and Allura; the courses will be 100% online and focused on the development of mobile solutions and their systems. The training, focused on programming, aligns with one of the most promising careers in technology today, encouraging the development of talent in Salvador, a capital emerging as an important innovation center in the country.
“We believe that education is fundamental for significant changes to occur in society and, in this sense, we always seek to contribute to a more inclusive and diverse technology market. Therefore, we are happy to join forces with Nubank for this purpose,” says José Messias Junior, CEO of Cubos Academy, a technology school that offers courses for all profiles, from beginner to advanced. With 10% of all course spots allocated for scholarships, the school has already converted more than R$100,000 into scholarships. According to José Messias, the initiative aims to make the technology market more inclusive and diverse, as well as provide an opportunity for low-income individuals to overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic.

Applications will be open until 03/11 for residents in the state of Bahia, with 70% of the spots reserved for people in Salvador and the metropolitan area. The program will also have criteria for distributing the classes in order to ensure the inclusion of self-declared Black or mixed-race students, women, and people with disabilities.
“When we talk about cutting-edge technology, companies seek talent but rarely take responsibility for developing them. This project reinforces Nubank’s commitment to this fundamental work of building new talent in the engineering market,” comments Monique Evelle, entrepreneur and consultant for NuLab.
At the end of the courses, students from both schools will join together to develop a project aimed at having a positive social impact on the Salvador community. “With the arrival of NuLab Salvador becoming increasingly closer, we have formed these courses with two key companies in training technology specialists. The goal is for everyone to leave the classes with enhanced skills, and it is worth noting that one of the pillars of this project is employability, whether at Nubank or in other innovative companies,” says Matt Swann, CTO of Nubank and one of the program’s supporters.
