Slaughterhouse Projects in Pernambuco
While the city of Canhotinho in Pernambuco advances on the construction of Masterboi’s new slaughterhouse, the surrounding infrastructure is taking shape. After the city hall secured earthworks in the area, resulting from an investment of R$ 3 million, the Pernambuco city government signed a letter of intent for the construction of a ring road, which will allow access to the state unit. The bidding process has already begun.
Mayor Sandra Paes (DEM) expressed her joy over the real prospects for the region’s development. According to her, the future is promising, as, in addition to the new projects in Canhotinho and the surrounding area, they have seen signs of this with the return of the ISS, and this construction has already brought benefits to the municipality, such as job creation.

About Masterboi
Masterboi is a company based in Pernambuco that has been in the national market for over 21 years, specializing in food processing and distribution, becoming a reference in the segment. The company has contributed to the socio-economic growth and development of the regions in which it operates, stimulating the economy and generating jobs, whether directly or indirectly.
The company has three slaughterhouse units located in the northern part of the country, one in São Geraldo do Araguaia – Pará, and one in Nova Olinda – Tocantins, with a capacity to process around 1,700 cattle per day, along with a processing and distribution center in the northeast located in Recife, Pernambuco. All slaughterhouse units are SIF approved and authorized to export to more than 40 countries. To meet the domestic market, the company imports meat, seafood, lamb, offal, vegetables, pre-fried potatoes, among other products from Asia, Europe, and other South American countries, completing its product mix.
Slaughterhouse Ends Production in Goiás
Frigol, the fourth largest cattle slaughterhouse in the country, recently announced that it will cease production at its rental unit in Cachoeira Alta, Goiás, and return it to where operations are conducted. According to the company, Frigol is undergoing financial restructuring and facing adverse market conditions. After the closure of the slaughterhouse, more than 400 employees will be laid off.
The company stated in a report that other factors, such as low investment attractiveness, may lead its products to be directed to the external market, forcing it to decide to end production at the Goiás slaughterhouse. About 413 employees will be dismissed. The production of refrigerated goods has been halted. Since Frigol participated in the collective holiday in March, the location has ceased activities. Following the closure of the Goiás slaughterhouse, the department will be returned to the owner, and existing employees will be dismissed. To access the full article click here.
