Odebrecht porto espirito santo vacancies jobs

2.500 jobs will be generated at the peak of the work. Odebrecht has just signed the memorandum for the construction of the São Mateus Port Center

Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção and Petrocity Portos SA signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of engineering studies for the construction of the São Mateus Port Center (CPSM), a maritime terminal located in the municipality of São Mateus, in the north of Espírito Santo. With an investment of BRL 2,1 billion, the new Multimodal port will handle several types of Cargo and is already considered a regional integration tool that will connect the north and northwest of the state of Espírito Santo, in addition to the south of Bahia and east and north of Minas Gerais. The port complex project will be supported by private funds.

With work scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2019 and completion in the second half of 2021, the expectation is that the CPSM will generate 2,5 jobs at the peak of the work. During operation, the port terminal should employ around 2 people.

In an area of 1,5 million square meters, the new port will have four types of operation. A terminal to coordinate oil and gas activities; one dedicated to the ornamental stone sector; a third party to manage the movement of containers; and the fourth focused on moving wood and pulp carcasses.

The port will be installed in an area covered by Sudene, despite being geographically located in the Southeast region, which will guarantee some tax benefits to the undertaking. The technical and economic feasibility study indicates a repressed demand for cargo in the region, such as ornamental stones, cellulose and wood from the south of Bahia, coffee, liquid bulk, ship repair, automobiles, agriculture and, mainly, containerized cargo from the south of Bahia, North and Northwest of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. “Having the international expertise of Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção will be fundamental to guarantee the execution of this complex, which will boost the economy of cities in the interior of these three states, in addition to guaranteeing the economic integration between them”, says José Roberto da Silva, director from Petrocity Portos SA

The architectural complex of the CPSM will have a new concept, will use the methodology of concrete boxes and will seek to ensure the application of sustainable practices in the installation and operation phases. “Our experience and technical capacity will guarantee the installation of one of the most beautiful and efficient ports in Brazil”, emphasizes Giorgio Bullaty, Odebrecht Contract Manager responsible for the studies of the enterprise and one of those responsible for the construction of a container terminal in the port of Doraleh (photo), in Djibouti, a country located in Northeast Africa.

The document signed between the companies ensures that, in return for the development of the engineering studies, the construction company will have exclusivity in the execution of the works of the undertaking.

Communities

Petrocity Portos SA carried out socioeconomic studies carried out by a company incubated at the Federal University of Espírito Santo to measure the impact of the project in the region and has maintained a permanent relationship with the main communities, in addition to participating in regular meetings.

The project should significantly increase the collection of ISS in the municipality. The forecast is that it will be R$ 220 million in the third year of operation of the port. The São Mateus Port Center should prioritize the hiring of local labor and will also have the implementation of mariculture projects (culture of marine organisms in natural habitat), in addition to incentive programs to improve the quality of life of these communities.
