Winner of the Petrobras Bid in the Mero Field, Ocyan’s Operations Should Start in the Second Semester

From the oil and gas sector, Ocyan won the Petrobras bid for the lease of a drilling rig dedicated to the Mero field in the Santos cluster. The bid was launched in 2019 and structured with a new proposal presentation model. The bid is divided into two phases, with the first phase aimed at delivering a non-fixed price offer, while the second phase was conducted in August for the presentation of the company’s daily price.

The Norbe VIII currently has a contract with Petrobras, which operates along the coast and is not dedicated to any project. The current contract ends in the first semester of the year, and Petrobras expects the unit to start operations in Mero in July.

The drillship competed with at least five other drilling units. Ocyan itself provided several rigs and also mentioned Norbe IX. The Norbe VIII lease contract is valid for 425 days and can be renewed for 655 days.
