Brand Advances in the Plug-in Hybrid Segment, Expands Presence in 64 Countries and Consolidates SHS Technology as a Pillar of Electrified Mobility
Since the beginning of 2025, OMODA & JAECOO has been accelerating its global expansion, especially in the new energy vehicle segment. In this context, the manufacturer recorded a growth of 601.56% in sales compared to 2024, surpassing 200 thousand units sold in the 64 markets where it operates, according to consolidated data from the company at the end of the year.
Thus, the significant advancement reflects a combination of industrial scale, acceptance of the portfolio, and increased demand for electrified solutions. Additionally, the performance aligns with the global energy transition movement in the automotive sector, marked by the search for efficiency, autonomy, and emission reduction, according to recurring analyses from international specialized press.
In this scenario, the Jaecoo 7 SHS has become one of the main engines of this growth. Consequently, the SUV, the first from the brand to utilize the Super Hybrid System (SHS), has ranked among the three best-selling plug-in hybrids in the world in its segment throughout 2025. In this way, the model has established itself as a central piece of the company’s global strategy.

At the same time, the advancement of new energy vehicles occurs during a technological transition. That is, consumers have been prioritizing models that combine combustion engine and electrification, offering consistent performance, greater autonomy, and energy efficiency in different usage scenarios.
SHS Technology Validated in Tests and the Market
In this sense, the SHS technology, developed by OMODA & JAECOO itself, was subjected to global tests in real driving conditions throughout 2024 and 2025. During these trials, direct comparisons with competitors highlighted the maintenance of performance even with battery charge below 20%, a characteristic that reduces the power loss common in plug-in hybrids.
Furthermore, in stability assessments, such as the moose test, the Jaecoo 7 SHS reached 80 km/h, surpassing direct rivals. In terms of efficiency, the model offers more than 79 km of electric range and exceeds 1,200 km of combined range, combining electric and gasoline engines. Completing the package, the thermal engine dedicated to the hybrid system achieves efficiency of up to 44.5%, a relevant figure for its category.
When analyzed by regional tests, the results reinforce this positioning. In the United Kingdom, in evaluations conducted in 2025, the SUV achieved 1,353 km of total autonomy. In Brazil, in tests conducted the same year, the model surpassed 1,400 km on a single tank, on a route between São Paulo and Foz do Iguaçu, showcasing its suitability for long distances.
International Recognition and Presence in Strategic Markets
Consequently, the technical performance also translated into external recognition. In 2025, the SHS technology received the award for “Best Plug-in Hybrid Technology of the Year” from the Spanish magazine AutoBild, a traditional publication in the European automotive sector.
In the market, the results followed suit with the tests. In the United Kingdom, the Jaecoo 7 SHS led sales among plug-in hybrids in August 2025. In Israel, the model was the best-selling vehicle in the country across all categories, while the SHS version dominated the new energy segment. In Malaysia, the J7 solidified its position as the leading hybrid in its segment throughout 2025.
Finally, the SHS platform was designed to operate in 64 global markets, supporting extreme temperatures in Northern Europe and harsh conditions in the Middle East, reinforcing its global application and the brand’s technological standardization strategy.
