Even With the Increase in US Tariffs, Brazil Registered Record Beef Exports in 2025, Highlighted by the Strong Rise in Purchases Made by Six Arab Countries in Different Regions.

Six Arab countries are among the main destinations for Brazilian beef produced this year, according to a survey released by the Brazilian Association of Frigorifics (Abrafrigo), published last Tuesday, the 7th.

Even with the increase in tariffs imposed by the United States, the sector achieved historic records in exports both in September and in the year-to-date.

Exports Grow in Value and Volume

In September, Brazil exported US$ 1.92 billion in beef, an increase of 49% compared to the same month in 2024.

In volume, shipments totaled 373,8 thousand tons, a rise of 17% in the same comparison base.

In the year-to-date, revenue reached US$ 12.7 billion, a growth of 35.8%, with 2.3 million tons exported — an increase of 18.7%.

According to Abrafrigo, the sector overcame the impacts caused by the increase in US taxes and seized new business opportunities in the global market.

China Leads Imports, Arab Countries Stand Out

China maintained its position as the main destination for Brazilian beef between January and September, with imports of US$ 6 billion.

The United States followed, with US$ 1.7 billion, followed by Mexico, Chile, Russia, the Philippines, Italy, Hong Kong, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia among the ten largest buyers.

Egypt imported US$ 240.2 million during the period, recording a decline of 3.8%. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, increased its purchases by 7.7%, totaling US$ 219.2 million.

Algeria ranked 13th, with US$ 185.3 million in acquisitions, an increase of 18.3%. Sales to the United Arab Emirates, the 14th largest buyer, experienced the largest annual retraction among the top 20 importers, with a drop of 72.6%.

Lebanon recorded a 42.7% increase in purchases, totaling US$ 100 million and ranking 17th. Libya, in turn, expanded its imports by 45.8%, reaching US$ 91.2 million and securing the 19th position.

Global Market Expansion

In total, 130 countries increased their imports of Brazilian beef over the year-to-date, while 48 reduced them.

The numbers include fresh meat, processed meat, edible offal, tallow, and other by-products, according to data from Abrafrigo, based on information from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (Mdic).
