High Fuel Prices Have Affected Several Sectors And To Escape This, Businessmen From MS Developed A Charging Station For Electric Cars That Uses Solar Energy, Generating An 80% Economy

The electric car sector is continually advancing and businessman Henderson Martins, 44, to escape high fuel prices, converted his Ford Ranger and drove the vehicle for the first time in January last year. While adapting his model, Henderson, who has a solar energy company in MS in partnership with his brother, also set up a pioneering solar-powered charging station for electric cars. Since then, the market has expanded, and Campo Grande has already gained six more charging stations and several enthusiasts.

Electric Car Conversions May Increase In MS Due To High Fuel Prices

According to the businessman, it is noticeable that every day more people are switching their combustion cars for hybrid models. Henderson also claims to know customers who have already moved away from combustion to use hybrids and are still planning to, in the future, use electric cars.

The cars currently on the road that have been adapted are hybrid models, which use both fuels and electric energy. However, with gasoline prices reaching R$ 8 in MS, the conversion to electric cars may come sooner than expected.

Electricity Costs Under Red Flag Promote The Use Of Solar Energy

Although fuel prices are high, the electricity costs under the red flag also disturb consumers. Thus, using electric cars supplemented with a clean energy source, such as solar energy, besides being cheaper, contributes to the environment.

Using electric cars is a step forward in reducing CO2 emissions responsible for global warming, so to be fully sustainable, this measure should be accompanied by other actions that classify the model as a truly eco-friendly car. When powered by batteries, the vehicle does not pollute the nature as it moves; however, the energy produced to recharge the vehicle can be contaminating, depending on how it is generated.

The charging station created by the businessman from MS uses solar energy to recharge cars, and it is still free. Another, out of the seven stations in the capital, is located in the parking lot of Shopping Campo Grande. No charge is made to use it, however, the recharging is done with conventional electricity.

Solar Energy Provides Monthly Savings Greater Than 80%

Currently, there are already several electric cars for sale; however, the driver can choose to convert his own car. But, according to the businessman from MS, buying an electric model is more worthwhile, due to the high dollar price, which is above R$ 5.

In terms of running the vehicle, according to Henderson, the savings reached over 80%. With fuels, about R$ 400 was spent to run approximately 300 kilometers. With solar energy, the businessman claims that not even 100 reais are spent per month. It’s an amount around 70 to 80 reais for the same range.

Although the advantages are enormous, the sector in MS is still entirely new to private initiatives; however, alignment with public policies and the industrial sector can accelerate and benefit development.
