As of September this year, ANAC recorded a 150% increase in the registration of drones in the country compared to 2017, reaching a total of 77 thousand registered devices, of which 28 thousand are registered for professional use and 49 thousand for recreational use, creating more jobs and boosting the Brazilian economy.
However, Emerson Granemann, CEO of MundoGEO – which will hold MundoGEO Connect and DroneShow Plus in São Paulo this November – believes that the number of drones flying and boosting the economy in the country should be much higher. “I believe that we certainly must have more than 150 thousand devices in operation in the country, both for professional and recreational purposes. In other words, 50% are irregular.”
