PetroRio launched a teaser last Wednesday (02) titled “Stories of the Offshore”, aimed at honoring the company’s offshore professionals. The series will be divided into 4 episodes and will tell stories of some of its oil workers in their daily life onboard. 2 chapters will be released in December and the other 2 are scheduled for January 2021.
Filmed on the Frade platform ship, Stories of the Offshore addresses the life journey of key characters for the functioning of the oil extraction operation. In each episode, we dive into a unique universe of this energy factory in the middle of the ocean. The first episode features the character Luiz Almeida, Marine Superintendent. He explains how the beginning of his career was, the lessons learned over the years of profession, and how he needed to reconcile his two biggest passions over time: family and navigation. The original series also includes professionals Camilla Harumi Ito, Junior Process Engineer; Maritiza dos Santos Wanzeler, Marine Supervisor; and Murilo Urbano, Senior Offshore Production Operator.

The goal of the series (a co-creation and co-production of PetroRio with the agency Rastro) is, in this moment of difficulties, to honor and shine a light on professionals in the sector, not just PetroRio employees. “PetroRio’s operations are marked by the best global SMS (Safety, Environment and Health) practices, also aiming to ensure the physical and mental integrity of our employees. But we want to extend beyond the company’s borders with this tribute, calling the market for a more effective approach regarding the recognition of offshore professionals,” says Nelson Queiroz Tanure, chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

According to Daniel Brito, head of Communication and Content at PetroRio, the project will involve public participation, as they will be invited to send their own stories sharing diverse experiences of life at sea. “Our goal is to honor our collaborators and all the offshore oil workers in Brazil. We are doing this in a modern and interactive way,” he emphasizes.
Brito notes that, in addition to increasingly producing oil, PetroRio is also a place with important stories. “Personal journeys, professional trajectories, and emotional cases that reflect the challenges and achievements of this category that lives at sea.”

“This is a remarkable project for both the external audience and the internal audience of the company, as it brings life to stories that deserve to be told. Projects like this also reveal the importance of synergy and collaboration between client and agency,” emphasizes Rafael Bizachi, partner at Rastro.
The series is scheduled to premiere on December 10 and will be available on specialized portals in the energy industry, in addition to PetroRio’s social media (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook).
