Petro-Victory Drives Oil Well Drilling in the São João Field, Barreirinhas Basin, Maranhão.
The oil company Petro-Victory announced that it is expanding its drilling operations in the São João field, in the Barreirinhas Basin, Maranhão. After the successful completion of well SJ-11, which has already produced 306 barrels of oil, the company inaugurated SJ-01, connecting the new well to the production station. With proven and probable reserves of 303 thousand barrels, the well began production at an initial rate of 303 barrels per day. In addition, Petro-Victory has already mobilized the rig for the third well, SJ-06, with plans to open an additional 12.4 meters in the Tutoia formation. The company’s goal is to leverage the oil production potential of the basin throughout 2024.
Drilling Campaign in the São João Field Progresses Successfully
Petro-Victory shared with the national oil market new advancements in its drilling campaign in the onshore São João field, located in the Barreirinhas Basin, in the state of Maranhão.
The company successfully completed the drilling of two oil wells and is currently focused on drilling a third in the area.

As disclosed, the oil company successfully drilled the first well, SJ-11, on February 16, within the established schedule and budget.
Since then, well SJ-11 has been consistently producing in the region, delivering a total of 306 barrels of oil.
The second well, named SJ-11, was inaugurated on February 28 and connected to the production station with artificial lift support.
The very next day, the well began production at an initial rate of 303 barrels per day.
Petro-Victory announced that SJ-01 has total proven reserves (1P) of 199 thousand barrels of oil and total proven plus probable reserves (2P) of 303 thousand barrels of oil.
Thus, the Petro-Victory team is monitoring various indicators at the oil wells, including well pressure, production rates, fluid separation, completion fluid recovery, and associated gas levels.
Petro-Victory Invests in the Oil Well Drilling Campaign in Maranhão
The company emphasizes that initial production results may not be indicative of long-term performance or ultimate recovery. Therefore, it is working to monitor the data in the São João field.
In addition to current operations, Petro-Victory has already mobilized a drilling rig on February 27 for the third oil well, called SJ-06.
The workover program for this well aims to open an additional 12.4 meters in three zones in the Tutoia formation.
According to the company, well SJ-06 has total 1P reserves of 69 thousand barrels and total 2P reserves of 134 thousand barrels of oil.
Thus, it will continue in the coming weeks focusing on activities at the third well in the São João field, planning to expand its drilling campaign in 2024.
