Copercampos Announced an Investment of Over R$ 200 Million in an Ethanol Plant in Santa Catarina. The Project Aims to Create Job Opportunities and Reinforces the Importance of the Ethanol Sector in Brazil.
Copercampos, one of the main agricultural cooperatives in Santa Catarina, revealed an investment of over R$ 200 million for the construction of a modern ethanol plant in Campos Novos. The announcement took place during the opening of the 28th Copercampos Technological Show, a prominent event in the state’s agricultural scene. During the construction, hundreds of new job opportunities will be created, benefiting local residents.
New Project Will Have R$ 200 Million Invested for the Construction of an Ethanol Plant
The new plant, designed to be a landmark in ethanol production, is expected to generate around 3.7 million liters of hydrated ethanol and 32 million liters of anhydrous ethanol annually.
The project, developed in partnership with Lindner Techno Systems, will use corn and wheat as raw materials for ethanol production, consisting of a composition of 85% corn and 15% wheat.

Near Amsterdam, a construction project next to the A9 highway placed 19 concrete beams in sequence on the same day, with pieces up to 31.5 meters and 60.5 tons.
In addition to the main ethanol production, the plant plans to manufacture DDGs (dried distillers grains with solubles) as a byproduct, with an estimated capacity of 25,000 tons per year.
These DDGs are valuable in feed manufacturing, contributing to the circular economy and sustainability in the production chain.
Project Predicts the Creation of Over 100 Direct Job Opportunities and Strengthening of the Local Economy
The expectation is that the new plant will consume about 30% of the corn received by the cooperative, consolidating itself as an integrated operation.
Additionally, the plant will be able to produce protein meal, corresponding to the DDGs, essential in the manufacturing of feeds for the agricultural industry.
The chosen location for the plant’s construction is Encruzilhada, taking advantage of the presence of an existing storage unit, which will facilitate the efficient reception of raw materials.
The start of construction is scheduled for the first semester of 2024, with an estimated conclusion in two years.
One of the notable aspects of this undertaking is the projection of creating over 100 direct job opportunities, significantly contributing to local economic development.
The initiative by Copercampos reinforces not only the commitment to innovation and sustainability but also highlights the importance of the ethanol sector in the Brazilian energy matrix.
