After the Gasoline Price Cut Announced by the State-Owned Company Yesterday (27), Diesel Will Also Undergo Some Adjustments to Balance Prices During These Periods of Market Volatility
Petrobras approved measures that will give the state oil company greater flexibility in setting diesel prices, the company said in a document this Friday (28). Although Petrobras, as the company is known, did not explicitly declare the plan as a hedge program, it said that the measure was similar to one taken in September, when the company introduced the same system for gasoline.
Under the new measures, Petrobras said it will be able to keep diesel prices stable for periods of up to seven days while varying the frequency of values during periods of high volatility.
Gasoline
Petrobras announced a 6.20% decrease in gasoline prices at refineries starting October 31, which has been maintained since then. With the change, the average price of the product at refineries will drop to R$ 1.8623 per liter, according to the company’s website.

More than a decade of delays: the duplication of Lot 1 of BR-280, between São Francisco do Sul and Jaraguá do Sul, had its project approved in 2013, suffered stoppages and has remained halted since 2022, with only 36% of the services completed.
The average price of R$1.985 had been maintained since October 24, and with the new adjustment, the new price being charged will be the lowest since June 27, when it was charged R$1.8783.
