According to Roberto, “With the departure of those who joined the PDV, we will go down to about 35,000, and with the sale of the refineries, we will probably remain close to 30,000, which is enough for the company to continue operating well, with lower costs and more efficiently.”
Regarding the sales of the eight refineries, the president also stated that there have been no withdrawals in the divestment processes, despite the adverse economic scenario. “Our expectation is still to sign refinery contracts this year; it may be that some things carry over to 2021, and the closure of transactions will occur throughout 2021,” he declared.
Roberto Castello Branco also mentioned that the company is reducing costs and that by the end of this year, Petrobras will cut the number of occupied buildings in the country from 17 to just 8. He noted that the company will adopt remote work for administrative area employees until the end of this year and that, after the pandemic, such employees are expected to transition to telecommuting permanently.
