Get To Know Petrobras
Petrobras is a Brazilian state-owned company that primarily operates in the exploration of oil and its natural gas derivatives. The company was founded in 1953, during the second government of Getúlio Vargas, and began its activities in 1954.
One of the milestones in the history of Brazilian oil was the discovery of the pre-salt layer between the coasts of Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo, which rapidly expanded the production of the oil company and placed it in a prominent position in the international arena. In addition to its contributions to the petrochemical technological sector, Petrobras is a major attractor of foreign investments and a generator of jobs.
The exploration of oil is the main activity performed by Petrobras. This phase relates to the discoveries and the analysis of geological characteristics of the sector where the extraction of raw material will take place. Thus, it involves the gathering of a series of data, correlated research, and evaluations, also encompassing drilling and chemical evaluation of the material.
