Petrobras informs that the fleet of ROV's will be destined to interventions, inspections and subsea maintenance in the post/pre-salt

Os ROVs are indispensable for operations in the offshore segment in oil extraction activities and there was a certain concern in the market regarding the renewal of the fleet and companies that would get the next batch of contracts for operations of these robots both in the pre-salt and in the post-salt. The good news is that Petrobras ended up signing with DOF and will maintain the current fleet stabilized with some increments.

DOF, which is a company from Norway, proclaimed in early January that it managed to sign with the state-owned company and will be responsible for part of the supply of remotely operated underwater robots (ROV's) throughout the national territory where there are jobs in the offshore chain, oil and gas. Among all the agreements submitted in the contract, two of them foresee the installation of ROV's in Skandi Angra and Paraty, which are anchoring and support vessels (AHTS), they are under the responsibility of Norskan, which is also a subsidiary. Contracts start this year, 2018 with an expiration date of November 2020.

Currently, there will be around 75 robots that will operate in the country and it seems that the fleet will not grow much until the end of the contract. What is known is that new contracts for RSV's (ROV support ships) will appear as the year 2018 goes by, about 5 or seven of them. The underwater area of Petrobras uses ROV's in intervention operations, subsea inspection and maintenance of equipment, rigid and flexible pipelines, support for mooring operations and in geodesic activities.
