Petrobras announced on Friday (09/08) that it sold 7 fields in RN for US$ 191.1 million, approximately 753 million, to 3R Petroleum.

The fields of Polo Macau produce about 5,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day and are entirely owned by Petrobras, except for the Sanhaçu field, in which it holds a 50% stake, while the other 50% belongs to Petrogal, controlled by the Portuguese Galp.

According to information from Petrobras, 3R Petroleum will pay in two installments, one of US$ 48 million upon signing the contract and another of US$ 143.1 million upon closing the transaction.
The deal will still be subject to approval by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP).
The Buyer
3R Petroleum is a Brazilian company that operates in the redevelopment of mature terrestrial fields, and it has financial support from Starboard funds, an alternative investment manager that was advised by CMA (Campos Melo Advogados), the firm that negotiated with Petrobras the structuring of the debt and equity for the Macau polo project.
The sale of fields in Rio Grande do Norte is part of Petrobras’ divestment plan, which will now focus on its core activity of exploring and producing oil and gas in deep waters.
Petrobras also announced the start of a process to sell its stakes in 11 production fields in shallow waters in the Campos Basin.
The fields are called Polo Garoupa, which includes the assets of Anequim, Bagre, Cherne, Congro, Corvina, Malhado, Namorado, Parati, Garoupa, Garoupinha, and Viola.
All the fields are 100% owned by Petrobras, and the average production of the wells over the last 12 months was approximately 19,600 boe/day.
The sale process also includes production and flow facilities up to Barra do Furado.
