For R$ 44 Million, Petrobras Sold Its 49% Stake in Wind Farm Mangue Seco 1, Located in the State of Rio Grande do Norte

Petrobras sold to the investment fund V2I its 49% stake in Wind Farm Mangue Seco 1 for R$ 44 million. The complex, located in Guamaré, Rio Grande do Norte, has a total installed capacity of 26 MW and is part of four wind farms located in the region.

The Sale of Petrobras’ Wind Complex Stake

Petrobras announced that the transaction for the sale of Wind Farm Mangue Seco 1 was completed for R$ 44 million, and the adjustments stipulated in the share purchase and sale agreement were paid. This transaction aligns with the company’s strategy of optimizing its investment portfolio and improving capital allocation, aiming to bring maximum value to shareholders.

During the divestment process, Petrobras is expected to leave Rio Grande do Norte, as in a statement in August 2020, Petrobras indicated that in addition to its logistics and oil structure, it also announced plans to relinquish its onshore exploration areas.

In February, Petrobras announced that it signed a contract to sell its 51% stake in Wind Farm Mangue Seco 2 to the investment fund Multiestratégia Pirineus for R$ 32.97 million.

The Wind Complex in Rio Grande do Norte

The three parks already sold are part of a complex of four projects – Mangue Seco 1, Mangue Seco 2, Mangue Seco 3, and Mangue Seco 4, located in Guamaré, Rio Grande do Norte. They have a total installed capacity of 104 MW. Wind Farm Mangue Seco 1 has and operates a wind farm with a capacity of 26 MW.
