RIP Serviços oil tanker dies on the PNA-2 platform

The accident occurred during a crane maintenance operation on the platform located in the Campos Basin

One of our friends unfortunately died this Sunday (25) afternoon at the PNA-2 unit, located in Campos Basin, official information from Sindipetro-NF. The operational accident happened around 14:00 pm yesterday, when he was maintaining a crane, informed the union. Petrobras is already taking the necessary investigation measures to find out in fact what the employee read at death. Here is the note from Petrobras:

“We regret to report the death of an employee of the company RIP Serviços Industriais, which occurred this Sunday[…] The Company has already notified the regulatory bodies and will set up a commission, in accordance with internal procedure, to determine the causes of the accident”, it said in a note.

According to those responsible, the victim's name is Sandro Ferreiro and he was a mechanic at the unit, his family is from Marataízes, in the state of Espírito Santos. At the time of the accident, an aeromedical helicopter was called immediately, but there was no time for rescue. Civil Police expertise is at the scene of the accident to also determine the circumstances of the accident.
