The Private Institution Has Been Drawing Attention Since 2021, Following the Initiation of Strategies Aimed at Improving Diversity in the Corporate Environment, Shaping How It Is Perceived by Employees.
Petronect, a commercial partner of Petrobras in the Oil and Gas Sector, is celebrating yet another victory this week: the positive results achieved after implementing strategies to enhance the diversity of its workforce. Some initiatives included creating lectures and distributing books on the topic.
To ensure these actions were adopted, the private institution established, starting in March 2021, a committee that would address and study the internal diversity of the teams, both in terms of gender and race and ethnicity. The committee is composed of six professionals from different areas, such as Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Human Resources.
The program is led by the human resources manager and is called Diversinect. With this time of existence, it has been possible to ascertain that the company has a proportional amount of men and women. At least 53% of its employees identify as women, while the rest identify as men. However, the numbers are not as proportional for Black individuals, as the percentage of self-identified employees in that category remains at 30%.

Petronect Committee, a Partner of Petrobras, Enables Increased Diversity in the Corporate Environment
The diversity committee developed by Petronect, a partner of Petrobras, enables increased diversity in the corporate environment through knowledge capsules on the company’s commemorative dates, distribution of readings, and general lectures.
“The impact of the Committee’s work has already been observed in the results of the biannual Climate Survey, which at the end of 2021 had 80% favorability in the diversity dimension, and grew to 92% in the first half of 2022, confirming the improved perception of equity, diversity, and inclusion topics among employees,” concludes Wanessa Cunha, team leader.
In 2023, the company will study cultural aspects and how they influence the work environment. Therefore, they will conduct semiannual surveys to analyze the main changes and what is affecting employee behavior.
